Watched it. Was superbly executed and acted, even if the whole premise was a bit dumb.

Good fun, this one. Awesome action.

Jamie Foxx talking about the pistol shrimp and then the bad guy releasing him was funny as fuck

So what's everyone's thought on Disney asking for a price for new movies, on top of what people are paying for D+?

As much as I love the original Mulan, I'm not paying extra (especially with the recent track record of the remakes...). I'll wait until it comes to the service 'free.'

To be honest, this whole lockdown has me realising how little I give a fuck about the cinema anymore. It's mitigated by having my own home theater, but still.

I'm sure the Tarrentinos and Nolans despise people like me, but eh.

Its more than a bit money grubbing, but I can also understand the economics of the choice. They're used to having the initial income from cinematic release, before it becomes a selling point on streaming for continued income.

I'm the opposite, I've been really missing going to the cinema. I've got a membership so I get unlimited tickets for a set monthly fee, so I enjoy doing a whole day out - seeing 3 or so films over the course of the day. Its something I've really missed in lockdown.

Me too. I miss the big screen, the spine thudding surround, and the general ambience of the theater. I especially miss movie theater popcorn.

Much prefer staying at home. Don't think I'll ever really go back to the cinema if this whole situation leads to increased options in how I can view new releases.

At the same time, Mulan's increased price isn't anywhere near worth it. They can go to hell on that one.

If this is supposed to be an option for people who want to see the new movie but at home instead of a theater, then, depending on how it's priced, for once I really can't blame Disney for giving people the option. Netflix doesn't release their movies in theaters. Disney does and obviously they want the box office revenue.

I mean the Mulan film isn't even gonna have singing or Mushu. I get that it's trying to be more true to the Chinese story, but Mushu was the best part about mulan. Also, none of the music? Wut? It's not a live action remake, it's a totally diferent film from the same source material.

$35 on top of the monthly fee in Australia and for that price there is the perfect response from The Caste Tell him he's dreaming. I understand that they need to recoup cost for the move but it would have been more reasonable at $20 like all the other movies that were fast tracked and they didn't have a subscription fee attached ether
Also at this point in time Disney+ aside from the Mandalorian has been pretty disappointing in regards to new content

Yeah I was excited to watch it but that's more than I'd have to pay at a theater, by 2-3x depending on where I went. Fuck that noise lmao.

If they were aiming to at least partially simulate cinema sales, they really should adopt the comcast model and be doing like a 10 dollar same day as theaters at home rental, have a buy option for 20 - 30 (the cost of 2-3 movie tickets) in a month, and then in 2 months take it to D+.

This may be the ideal cinema time, once some things come out. The screen, the sound, and the fun, but hopefully all the mouth breathers are too fucked off about wearing a mask to attend.

    ... huh

This trailer looks a lot better than the previous ones that were all about Trevor, at least.

I spent thousands on speakers, and I'll likely be upgrading my 1080p projector for a 60-70 inch oled within the next couple of years if covid doesn't end the world. I have no real reason to go to the cinema anymore.

It's way too expensive in Australia - I'd rather throw that money at a new TV :3
