Reloaded was okay, but a letdown after the first movie. Revolutions was was indeed hot garbage, particularly the end.

All they had to do was Matrix Within a Matrix and that shit would have written itself.

There are good things about the sequels. Some of the action is fucking great.

Even the final battle setup in Revolutions was good, it's the journey to the mainframe and the resolution that were unsatisfying. The whole battle for Zion was balls-to-the-wall fantastic, and so was the flight of the Nebuchadnezzar.

Plot-wise, Wachowskis wrote themselves into a weird, uninteresting philosophical corner because after The Matrix they heard for 2 years that it was the deepest scifi movie ever and it changed the life of many a future millenial blogger.

I mean, they could have just kept riffing off of Grant Morrison like they did for the first one.

And the action wasn't that amazing

That looks epic, definitely going to watch. He looks a bit heroic what with people imitating him/ him having a bit of a heroic bent despite the anarchy and I'm glad Quinn won't be in it.

Hopefully the movie will be better than the trailer song remix.

I gotta give them credit for that, the redesign looks significantly better than the original form.

    Wow I hate it.

Favorite part of Scooby Doo was that it was always humans underneath. End of the day there was always a person and they were kids uncovering mysteries not fighting supernatural beings/aliens.

While I kind of agree with that, my favourite piece of Scooby Doo media is Scooby Doo on Zombie Island which features actual ghosts monsters.

But yeah, pretty much agree with you that the movie looks like a bit of a let down. While most didn't like the live action movies, I feel like it's time to take another crack at it. Plus, the animation looks like it's intended to be targeted at kids. The problem though is that most of this generation of kids aren't interested in Scooby Doo. Instead they should have banked on Childhood Nostalgia and made it live action again to target at adults.

This movie feels too "small". If Scooby Doo wasn't an existing media then the movie would be perfectly okay. But because it has so much history, then I feel like a bit more effort needs to be put in. This feels like the execs realised they haven't made a theatrical Scooby Doo movie in a decade and just grabbed the first script they could find.

Plus, it seems a bit scummy to me that Matthew Lillard wasn't even asked to audition for the role of Shaggy. It doesn't even make sense form "Corporations only care about money" POV. If you want more people to buy your tickets then you get the guy whose most known for doing Shaggy's voice. It's not like people are going to suddenly buy tickets now that Will Forte is doing the voicing.
