Spider-Man was so damn good. Top 10 in the MCU for sure, perhaps top 5.

They really couldn't get the guy who played Smith in the first trilogies to come back?
What a dissapointment the new guy was.

Otherwise I enjoyed the movie. The fights were shit though.

Which is weird because Hollywood has gotten much better at making good fight scenes.

Couldn't Keanu bring in the choreographer from the wick movies or something.

I found The King's Man incredibly disappointing. It just lacked the fun of KTSS for me, and honestly? It felt super duper long while I was watching it. Maybe 3 or 4/10.

Saw the new Matrix. I had a great time watching it. There were some scene transitions that felt jarring, and some dialogue and exposition that felt very bleh. I also felt a bit short changed from how little we saw of the new city. The large fight scenes were lacking, particularly the train scene, and the movie commits the sin of enemies with awful aim all the fucking time, but the smaller fights were very Matrix. I really loved the early scenes that melded old and new where Thomas thought he was losing his mind. Overall, very solid movie that was almost great, but had a bunch of small stuff holding it back.

The Merovingian though, holy shit my sides.

    Overall, very worth watching.

I thought showing clips from the OG Matrix was a real facepalm. "Here, remember this better movie from 20 years ago? Nostalgia goes brrrrr"

Chad Stahelski played Tiffany's husband, if you know what I mean. I believe that Hugo Weaving was in some play and they couldn't wait on him to start filming because WB wanted it done.

Matrix Ressurections was... I dunno... fine I guess?

I think my biggest beef is that they weren't saying anything important with this movie storytelling wise. It was basically just 'herpderp Neo and Trinity love each other; behold the power of love... again.'

That whole meta "we need to develop something original and fresh for our sequel 'Matrix game' trilogy" was clearly Wachowski poking fun at the concept that a sequel franchise to a major hit is unrealistically expected to break boundaries a second time, and while I mostly agree, I do think a sequel needs to at least say something different from the original.

    This movie didn't do that.
