Watched a few over the long weekend
No Sudden Move: Wonderful, Soderbergh does Cohn Bros, definitely worth watching.
The Tomorrow War: You can tell it's script has been through the wringer several times. Pretty garbage overall, literally changes from the underlying metaphor being subtext to the supertext in an extremely awkward fashion, not worth your time.
Gundam Hathaway: Absolute dogshit, do not touch, cut out from your life anyone who liked it. One good scene does not make up for being terrible in every other way.

The Tomorrow War was pure cringe. And when you think it is finally over and your suffering is complete, it adds on another 30 minutes of extra mega-cringe.

Man, even the ads for it were just garbage. Pratt peaked as Andy and Star-Lord and has been slipping further and further into cringiness for a few years now.

Colossal, starring Anne Hathaway I presume. It's a metaphor for self destructive tendencies or whatever.

Jokes aside, never actually saw it as it's not my kind of thing, but I usually hear good things about it.

    edit:

lol nevermind. Apparently there's a Gundam I missed.

I kind of liked the monster designs, tentacled genestealers, but that was basically it.

It had basically no redeeming value outside of the night raid scene, from poor characterization to loopy logical jumps (not talking about the initial Newtype based one) to a complete failure to set the scene and worst of all, mediocre mecha fights. It started with an okay hook but failed to do anything with it nor go anywhere

Closer look at Disney's newest excuse for more Lin Manuel Miranda.

Pig was really good! One or two parts that were a little off but a great film worth watching

Looks intriguing, and a good central cast list.

I'm always down for a Ridley Scott film. Even his shitty ones are usually, at the very least, decent in some form or another.

Im so far past half mast I’m cutting diamonds.

Between the cast lineup, Villeneuve, Zimmer, and modern CGI and cinematography this is set to be spectacular. The ‘84 version failed for a lot of reasons, but one of the biggest is the inability to give the viewer the sort of cinematic depth that something like Dune requires.

I just hope it does really well so they give the go-ahead for more big budget Dune tv show follow ups (besides the Bene Geserit show) and we finally get the whole first Dune arc up through God Emperor done with real actual effort.

Tbh, I was expecting a studio like Amazon or Netflix to pick it up after the GoT craze when everyone was looking for the next ‘big one’. Not that I’m unhappy with WoT and Amazon’s LoTR shows being produced, but Dune in particular hit the epic scope, intrigue, and spectacular characters buttons hard without it being ‘just another fantasy epic.’

The Tomorrow War won't be winning any Oscars, but I enjoyed it in the same way I enjoyed Independence Day and Battleship. It's an entertaining sci-fi action flick, it doesn't need to be anything more than that.

The Suicide Squad was an enormous amount of fun. Laugh out loud funny throughout, lots of cool action, and wonder of wonders, actual charm and a degree of emotional engagement. I could quibble about a couple of things, but I'm not enough of a comics purist to say for certain that I'd be right
Mainly Waller, who I've always understood to be a genuinely cunning and clever woman, unfazed by basically anything, but who here spends a lot of time shouting and barely in control.
