Starts up tuesday.
I wonder if they will keep the whole Nazi style takeover. It looks like it will have some religion aspect to it.
I guess some people start to worship the Visitors.

 

I can't wait, if only for Morena Baccarin. Then again, I'm a sucker for some Sci-Fi.

SyFy (I still can't get over how gay that looks) has been running episodes of the original V. I haven't stopped to watch, because I honestly don't like watching old shit (Star Trek notwithstanding).

Ok, I have a few questions:

- Why do they use these human disguises? The sleeper cells obviously should look human, but the 'arriving' aliens? Seems much more suspicious to me than if they looked alien.
- With all these resistance cells and defecting aliens, shouldn't they be able to show at least one alien and how they really look?
- Btw: why would these priests care about the Vatican? Where they supposed to be catholic priests? Wrong dress then.


Let's see how they do in the coming episodes, but they are coming dangerously close to some clichés that would really annoy me. I really hope they have a good reason why the aliens would want to destroy humanity or take over or whatever evil thing they want.

I think that the premiere should've been 2 hours. Everything went too fast. For instance:

-Why would everyone instantly trust the aliens as soon as they came to Earth? If anything, everyone would lock themselves in their houses and the armed forces would be on every street corner until the government was sure that the aliens could be trusted?
-How were they able to set up healing centers in such a short amount of time? Wouldn't hospitals and insurance companies have problems with that? I know the V's were trying to help but healthcare is still a huge business.
-Why the sudden approval by the churches? I imagine that the Pope would be one of the first to meet with the V's along with various other religious leaders.
-How are they organizing peace ambassadors already? Again, the government would have a lot to say about that. If anything, it would be years before civilians would even be able to go near the V's unless they had some sort of special clearance.

Maybe I have to suspend belief for a bit. I'm not saying that I didn't enjoy it because I did, but it could've been handled a little better.

 

If your entire family was sick and I came and said I could help(and had proof) would you wait months?

Plus didnt they put sleepers in all the major parts of the government, military, religion, and business?

 

I understand that, I meant that it would've taken them months to set up the health centers because the insurance companies and hospitals would want to test them out first to see if it's safe for the public.

And I'm sure that they did put sleepers in all major parts of government, but unless the president is one of them, they would've face a lot of opposition in the Legislature.

 

Maybe Catholic priests dress differently in Germany, 'cause it looked about right to me.

Well, they have enough control over the various governments to outright slaughter their oppsition with what are clearly alien weapons and get away scot-free. There's no way in hell that that firefight in the warehouse could have gone completely unnoticed, even if they got rid of the bodies. If they're so unconcerned about killing humans in a loud and brutal fashion, then I doubt they see insurance companies as much of an obstacle.

 

Just watched the first episode, and I have to say, I highly enjoyed it. It was fast paced, kept my attention, and held quite a few surprises, even with all the spoilers I read.

I look forward to the next episode.

I liked the pilot, though the overly-fast pacing kind of startled my slow-buildup loving mind at first, though it was tight and brisk and all kinds of fun to watch. Elizabeth Mitchell was great, the Visitors are all kinds of creepy, so I'll be back next week, for sure.
