I did a quick search, didn't find anything. Hope I'm not creating a second topic for the same series.

Anyway, I've recently finished the vampire earth series up until the 7th book, and loved it. Anyone else read the series/have anything to say about it?

Next to Dresden Files this is my current favorite series out right now, I love the imagery of how things are set up after the invasion. There are lots of great things in the books but the one thing I want to see the most for something to happen too Valentine and Blake finds out and goes on a fucking rampage. That would be epic.

    Summary:

Year:2022, a race of 'aliens' (known as Kurians) have invaded the earth, destroying most of human civilization and forcing those alive to serve as cattle, which the Kurians feed off of to stay alive.

Year: 2044 (I believe). Most humans have settled into their new roles, doing their best to live under the Kurians, knowing that every move they make could get them hauled off to the reapers (avatars of the Kurains used to feed). The pockets of resistance are barely holding on, letting those within their borders live in relative peace. Traitors to the human race (Known as quislings), work at the beck and call of the Kurians, patrolling the lands, fighting battles, and putting down human uprisings.

The story follows David Valentine, from the age of 11 where his parents are killed by Quislings, as he grows and joins the resistance movement, and works to end the Kurian reign.

This is just a starting point, I thought the wiki summary was too dry, so I tried my best to make a more all encompassing summary. The series spans 7 books, and is incredibly detailed in both the action, and the softer scenes. Those that love sci-fi will definitely enjoy the series.

Interesting, I'm currently looking for a new series to start. So what's the title of the first book called?

I support the reading of this. The Wiki paints it in a bad light. Its not just what Midknight said. It'd be hard to say more, without spoiling it.

You'll be hooked by the second book, if the first one doesn't do it for you. Honest.

If not, then, its not your type of book.

First book is called Way of the Wolf.

Don't read this if you're going to read the books, I'll try not to go into to much detail, so as to not ruin them.

For the first book: The basic jist is that you start out with the main character, Valentine. The world is post apocolypse, but, in the sense that the humans are fighting against this group of aliens that came through portals all over the world, and they're interconnected.

Two factions of aliens exist, those that want to use the humans as cattle, they use these things called Reapers, to suck the life outta people, and as a result, they never die, the Kurians.

The other faction does the same thing, but they're against enslaving the humans, and they use alternative means as a way to get their energy. As a result, they use humans, both factions do, like chess pieces, to fight against each other. The faction for the humans, transform the people using some kind of gene altering stuff, and it makes them take on the attributes of an animal(i.e Way of the wolf) There are three types of animals they use, Wolves, Cats, and Bears. Bears are like tanks, and are used for heavy battle, Wolves are infantry, and Cats are like spies and such.

First book is an intro to all of that.

If you'd like to know more, PM me or something...

Its pretty much what Pyro said, but more.

Have to agree, I can't wait for Blake to get old enough to gain in intelligence. I want to see him take a more active part in the series.
