Anyone is watching it? It's web series done by Freddie Wong and co. I think some parts could use a little improvement, but as always "game" scenes are flawless.

And they did get Zachary Levi as a teacher. I wish there were schools like this in the real world. :)

    Link.

I know that The Law is suppose to be the main character's archenemy, but I think this position goes to Games Dean (the one who took the hat and the cake). Brian D and Law should watch out before he steals Jenny from both of them. ;)

Very fun series, just like freddie's other videos. He has another channel too where he shows how some of those videos are done.

    Episode 5 is out.

Is there a reason our protagonist has to be completely retarded? It seems to me that he could solve many of his issues by adding female love interest on facebook and messaging her, or just, you know, actually talk to her about things he has a problem with. He is supposed to understand teamwork (he did play in an invitational) but he only thinks to air his grievances after the game has started? Isn't he supposed to be learning to be a professional, and should know this?

Hell, i'm not very good at video games from a competitive standpoint and I know that. Teamwork wins or loses games most of the time, and what he was asked to do (provide cover fire) isn't unreasonable.

And why is he so bad at FPS now? He was supposed to be moderately skilled, and now he is playing with pros, I guess should explain it, but he keeps doing all kinds of newb things (not pieing corners, for instance, or avoiding ambush zones) because of his single minded determination to hunt down The Law. Maybe it should have occured to him at some point he's trying to compete with one of the best FPS players in the school, and after he fed the first 3 deaths, maybe return to the objective?

Idiot protagonists annoy me, especially ones i'm supposed to be relating to.

Haven't seen it yet and probably will wait for the next one before watching it, but from not only your comment I see that the creators mistaken underdog for idiot, which is a common thing and really annoying.

I wouldn't recommend it, honestly. If you have like 2 hours to blow and literally nothing else, maybe but otherwise, I'd spend your time doing something more productive. Like geting a haircut, or trimming your toenails, cleaning your fingernails.... Really anything. Given that this is supposed to be in 10 parts, I thought that this would be a coming of age story for the kid, where he learns that hard work and dedication, plus the support of others, is what you need to be successful. That heart and skill have an equal place at competitive play, and at the end of the day as long as you feel as if you've given your all and everyone knows it that you can be proud of yourself.

So you know, like every sports movie ever. Even the ones with slender endings.

This is more like "watch the jock nerd pick on the nerd nerd in nerd school." With the emphasis on nerd nerd. This had the potential to be much better, but I guess I've been spoiled by books because I want more "why" and less "look at all the cool stuff these zaney kids get up to at Video Game School!". Okay, so male friend is really good at drifting, but bad at guitar hero, even thigh his dad is a guitar hero rock god. So what? Why's that make him choke all the time? And why is female lead a game designer going to a school where you learn to play games? Shouldn't there be a seperate game design school?

The story leaves me unsatisfied with the plot and the world building, but I love the idea. A moderately skilled kid gets a lucky break and gets fast tracked to being a pro through a school designed to do just that. Obviously The Law is going to have a problem with him, but why does the rest of the world think he is anything but middle tier? It's not like its impossible to review old video clips of invitationals, the world should be able to gauge his skill accurately not only from those instances, but watching him play.

And that ranking system, what? I rage. Seriously. The best and worst kid in your school and play in a scrimmage (which don't usually count toward an official score) and surprise! The best keeps killing the worst. This tanks his rating to almost expulsion level?! That just plain doesn't make sense. That's like if pros vs. Pubs in LOL and when you lost, the Elo was quadrupled. Beside making no sense, after the first few times that it was revealed that male protagonist isnt some wunderkid, but just won by a fluke, The Law should have got over it, or even better, manipulated the situation for his own benefit. With an ego that big, he definitely should have tried to run some damage control. It would have been an amazing PR stunt (and shown that he isn't just a stereotypical jerk) for him to take the kid under his wing.

What kind of FPS ranks you by your deaths anyway? I could see if it was by your K:D ratio, or some other similar metric, but using ranks purely based off deaths is silly. I'll admit I don't watch much competitive FPS but is it really realistic that you never get fragged?

I guess I'm more angry at the show than I thought. Is it supposed to he geared toward a younger age bracket or something? The story just feels superficial so far.

Just watched this with my brother, it was fucking awesome. I used to love season 1 of Pure Pwnage back in the day, and this is like that, but a lot better.

Obviously, being a Freddie Wong video, the special effects and quality of cinematography are jaw dropping for an amateur/semipro internet film (I heard they did get a decent budget going). The actors are very decent (and the two main female roles are hot as).

As for the story? Well, it seems a lot of people aren't enjoying it much, but I'm the guy who loves shounen sports anime series. And this is just like that. A ridiculous, over the top world where they take an activity and turn it into this overdramatized event. The cheesy characters. So I'm loving it.

That, and it's hilarious. Some of the scenes are just so random and over the top they had both me and my brother on the floor laughing. Any scene with cool hat guy is win. And that dream sequence...so random.

Was very impressed that they even filmed real Mustangs on a real track for the drifting scene.

And anything with Epic Meal Time guy adds many points to its awesomeness straight away.
