We all know that in the first book, Voldemort is drinking unicorn blood as a quick measure for power before attempting the stone. We also know that drinking unicorn blood is a bad thing, because of a cursed, half-life. What do you think the effects of doing such a thing would have on Voldemort after he got his body back?

With vene, i'm having Voldemrot's body being very unstable and needing replacement every six or so months, it fits 'a cursed life' 'half-life' well enough, although one could argue that the detrimental effects could have died with Quirrel.

In that thing you call a closet. Better watch out,
As Voldemort was just the soul, the unicorn blood I think was used to strengthen Quirrel so he could hold out with Voldemort in him long enough. Most vessels die fast, and Voldemort needed Quirrel to stay. And when Voldemort fled the body, the "curse" stayed with Quirrel, and his subsequent destruction took the curse with him.

I quite agree with Dark Lord Rostam. It was mentioned that all creatures that became host to Voldemort's soul eventually died out. Quirrel, being the host of Voldemort in PS/SS would eventually die so he was probably instructed by Voldemort to drink unicorn blood to preserve his body. Voldemort on the other hand would not suffer the backlash of the atrocious act.

Anyway, I believe this question can never be truly answered except by Rowling herself. However, I think she already forgot that she wrote about this.

Even if the blood is used to sustain Quirrel's body it is the magical potential of the blood that does so, otherwise any old blood could be used. In that case wouldn't it be logical for the curse to be placed on the drinker's magic/soul rather than just the body? I would think that Voldie's magic would be affected just as much as Quirrel's as they are so closely linked at the time.
We also don't really know why the previous hosts died so quickly, it could be that they simply physically couldn't cope with what Voldie was using them for, another wizard on the other hand would be a much better receptacle with its own magic and a similar lifespan etc...

No, the unicorn blood was ingested by Quirell to keep his body alive despite the obvious detrimental effects of being possed as all the other creatures Voldemort possed eventually died.

Back to the point, the effects of ingesting the unicorn blood (even if it affects your soul and magic) couldn't possibly be greater than splitting your soul into 7 pieces, dieing( sort of), being reborn, all of the rituals Voldemort undergone and basically killing a lot of people

It must have been Quirrel taking the blood. We are given no evidence to suggest that Voldemort had been using it for previous 11 years, if he hadnt, then there would be no reason to suddenly start using it other than to keep Quirrel alive

Wasn't he already somethjing else after splitting his soul into 7 pieces? I remember reading in HBP, one of the only few interesting points, that Dumbledore says Voldemort underestimates the power of a pure, whole soul, so there might be possibility that if he didn't make the Horcruxes and kept his soul whole he could have become more powerful?

No idea but just throwing that idea out there.

I think that that refers to the sort of 'power' that he knows not, that Harry has plenty of (appearently): love. I dunnu, maybe a partial soul is incapable of loving anything? Meh.
