I've read through first 3 chaps and it's not a bad story, though I prefer your other one.

As for the downsides, I basicly don't like the idea of "Harry is an actor" AU. I just don't see what being an actor has to do with the whole HP universe. I mean, if he was a marine, he would have known muggle combat, or if he was a scientist, he would know how to mix magic & technology. Actor? It just don't make sense to me. He could have as well been a bank clerk or a janitor, and the story wouldn't be all that different.

Other than that, writting style and plot are very good, like in your other story.

BTW What's the deal with your Yahoo! group? It requires conformission before joining. No other group I've visited required that.

 

This fic is on Hiatus btw. Thew Other Side of Hell is by far the only fic on my mind. This was only a quick idea that melted away as soon as it appeared. I doubt I'll take it up again as I've almost finished planning another epic to write after OSOH.

In most fics Harry is the biggest idiot ever. Why the hell would someone try to protect people? If I was Harry I would just enjoy my life, tour the world, hit on lots of babes, get drunk, smoke drugs, babes, hawaii, brazil, babes, you get the idea. Stupid Harry being an idiot trying to save Sirius in book 5, Philos.Stone in book 1, Ginny in book 2, Sirius in book 3, And book 4 he had to save that little veela girl.

Whats this guy's problem. DOnt save people. Get the hell out of there. Nobody cares if you save anyone, they will still treat you like a retard!

Another pet peeve. There is nobody in real life who would risk their life trying to save someone else. How retarded is that? Does he want to die? wouldnt suicide be easier for Harry? Lets see what would happen if Harry werent so retarded in canon:

BOok 1: Harry doesnt go to save Philosopher's stone. Quirrel cant get it out of mirror. Dumbledore comes and kicks his ass.

BOok 2: Harry doesnt go and try to fight the basilisk. As soon as he gets gryfindors sword he parsel tongue's the snake to back off and slits ginny's head off. There Problem solved!

Book 3: Let Remus and Sirius kill the rat. They can then show the body to the minister and viola! Sirius is free

Book 4: No wormtail, no cup plot so screw that.

Book 5: Sirius wont be at Grimwauld place, he will be free. Harry would tattle on umbridge to mcgonnnal and umbridge gets fired for blood quil thingy. Snape gives occlumency lessons. Harry tries harder. Viola!

Book 6: This is just too retarded. There is no way Harry can be redeemed in this fic. He is just too much of a pussy.

Well there you have it. Proof that Harry is a freakin retard in canon.

 

First off, come on - You post in a three month old topic about a fic thats been abandoned.

Second, please think about it. If Harry didn't save the day, if Harry wasn't the hero, if Harry ran away from everything, I've a sneaking suspicion that these books wouldn't sell as well. I don't know about you but I wouldn't find seven books of A Year In The Life of Harry Potter, A Normal Wizard At Hogwarts quite as interesting.

 

And third, why the hell did you post all of that in a completely irrelevant thread trident? Go to the Half-Baked Plot rant.

I also dare you to write a story where Harry is completely normal, doesn't want to save anyone and nothing happens. See what happens.

Myeh... you could have Dumbledore try to manipulate him and get frustrated, and everyone begging him to save them and he just looks at them... I actually tried to do this fic where Harry is a normal kid but it came out as something with foxes doing "stuff"....

Ths story was just a slight nagging which never really materialised properly. In other words, it's abandoned. So yeah, just lock it, lock it with all your might.
