    Have you seriously read the books? Hermione explains how horcruxes work before she, Harry, and Ron leave the Burrow in the Seventh Book. A horcrux is the exact opposite of a person. Peoples' souls survive even when their bodies are destroyed, but the existence of the piece of soul in a horcrux depends on its container. When its container is damaged beyond repair (or killed, if it is alive), then the horcrux is destroyed. Therefore, it is not possible for "basilisk venom [to kill] the soul in the objects, not the objects themselves". In every instance (not just with the basilisk), the containers for the horcruxes are irreparably damaged when they are destroyed. The horcrux inside of Harry did not die when he was pierced with the basilisk fang because he was not killed/destroyed. Basilisk venom only works as an agent to destroy horcruxes because (when) it is so effective at corroding/poisoning things.
