    Notice-me-not charms are fanon anyway.

Anyway, I figured that if you cast a spell like that on yourself, it would only work so far, given that muggle-repelling charms are placed around certain places (so I imagine it's like a bubble). Barton's keeping a close eye on Harry and he is well outside what Harry could conjure up on his own.

That was my logic, in any case.

I'd intended to put it up today, and I may still manage that, so keep an eye out. The new chapter's 2500 words edited and about 4200 total right now which may grow slightly.

    Cheers.

Maybe you could expand on Harry's suggestion to discuss terms for his surrender? Trust is a two-way street, and currently Harry is the only one making concessions. You could potentially use a short negotiation to make it easier for Harry to gauge SHIELD's intentions, and allow SHIELD to show through their actions that they are actually a reasonable bunch - which they haven't done so far.

    Notice-me-not charms are fanon? Damn.

At any rate. The charm that didn't work on Barton. Harry assumed it was because he was too far away. As a reader I assumed it was because Barton is highly trained and very good at what he does, as charms designed to make him not notice something might not work as well on him. Or maybe it's both.

Hawkeye might not have super powers, but he's got a few more levels in badass than most normal humans all the same.

How should the entry to the Leaky Cauldron, the entry at King's Cross or the Knight Bus work without? Maybe the name is fanon but the function is not.

Yep, the name just seems to be something someone cooked up before DH - I'm pretty sure they weren't named or given an incantation until that point. They're described plenty, though. To be fair, it does sound like it could be something JKR would use.

Also : the thread got split, it was getting huge and bloaty. Keep an eye on the story-only thread in WbA and keep comments here, please. :)

    (or Narf will castrate you.)

No it isn't? The only reason it was an issue in Santi's thread is because someone brought it up (who wasn't Santi) and others disagreed. In this case Roarian asked me himself if I could split up the threads. It's entirely the author's choice.

That awkward moment when you realize you've read entirely too much fanfiction.

In other news, when facing the Hulk much like when facing a dragon the old conjunctivitis curse to the eyes should at least give you some time to gtfo. Though, I suspect Harry is the type to stay and make sure Banner doesn't manage to kill any of the agents.

Hopefully, the agents get out without seeing Harry using magic or if one of them does see him, I would prefer it to be Natasha since she might actually keep her mouth shut about it.

Though, I would like to see a scene where Fury notes the fact that Harry had enough cheek to invite Natasha out for a drink in the middle of a confrontation. It shows a decided lack of worry about what exactly those agents could do to him.

Maybe you could tweak it to:

Dr. Banner, a muggle whom he'd just been talking to – was changing into something else.

Seeing people change into creatures is something Harry has seen many times before. The fact that it's a person without a shred of magic in him changing is the really fascinating part.

Edit: Please remember to post here. - Sesc

I don't think there's need to classify Banner as muggle. With Arch reactor, Harry is probably ready to see at least some small magics here and there. He probably stops classifying Banner as Muggle the moment change starts.

It might not be what Taure meant, but I read it as "This thread is going to become a gigantic clusterfuck spanning hundreds of pages."

Which seems to be a distinct possibility. :p

Yay. Cheering Charm makes an appearance after all.
Nice chapter. Though I would have expected Banner to be a bit more forceful in asking what happened, even though he is on cheering charm overload. I mean, its not like morphine. The charm just makes you happy. It shouldn't really give a drugged feeling. In fact it should probably make the target more lively and happy.

Excellent update, I think the fight went well. Perfect, actually.

Fury has a very high opinion of himself, doesn't he?

Overpowering the Cheering Charm has been stated to put its targets into euphoria and giggle fits, so it's totally canon. Great chapter, pleasantly surprised to see said charm being used. Also, it's great that you had Harry restrain Banner by working against the muscles that aren't as strong--the equivalent of holding a croc's jaws shut. Not a route most people consider.

Excellent, the fight went on as I hoped it would - Harry couldn't do lasting damage with conventional magic, wouldn't cast Dark Arts on Banner, but managed to calm Hulk down. Great job.
