Agreed, I thought it was very well done, though my interpretation from Thor was that Loki legitimately did want to help Asgard, but Odin was such a shitty father that Loki went just a tad insane.
So I felt the remark that Loki "didn't care about Asgard" was maybe a bit off, but honestly that's just me having a probably stupidly unrealistically positive outlook on Loki in Thor.

I don't know much about Thor so I could be off but I think Loki does care about Asgard. It's Odin he has a problem with.

You know, Roarian, it's not a bad story, but it's a shame that the chapters are so small, and with such a long wait between them. :awesome

Seriously, though, if they were bigger my head would explode the minute I put my 'editor hat' on.

Asgard? I'm fairly certain he says Midgard i.e. Earth. Which seems kind of reasonable for Loki. 'o.o

Yes, well, that's what happens when I start with this kind of thing. from a 4000 words average to 6000 with a few 8000's in there, then slowly 8, 9, 10k, 13k... XD

    Ah well.

Wait one minute... Harry got disarmed? Does that not count because he took back the wand after punching Loki?

Enjoyed the chapter immensely. Your play with the mind reading was excellent. Harry gets a dose of his own medicine when someone else reads his mind. It reminds him of how terrifying it can be when your thoughts are read.

Your description of Loki makes me wonder, why would he need help in getting the cube? If his sorcery can fool Harry who could get into SHIELD easily, it should be sufficient to get the cube. What reason do you have for him being unable to do so?

    Whoops.

Ignore me, then, I'm an idiot who can't read.

But yeah that fits then - dunno why I read Asgard instead of Midgard, though.

I think in the story it was the Holly wand but now all I can think about is Loki wielding the Death Stick. MINDFREAK!!

It does not matter which wand it was. In DH, Harry's disarming Malfoy of his wand resulted in the mastership of the Death stick passing on to him.

Loki isn't a wizard though. Sure he can use magic, but he doesn't interact with wands like HP!wizards do (or I assume not). The wand chooses the wizard, Harry "felt" his magic the first time he touched a wand, etc. I don't think Loki meets those requirements to dabble with wandlore/magic.

If Tony grabbed Harry's wand I wouldn't expect all ownership of Harry's wands to go to Tony. The same applies to Loki in my mind.

Well, at least you're suspicious, that's good. ;)

Taking Loki at his word on his motives - you're probably Not Gonna Have A Good Time.

I'm not sure if Loki's essentially pickpocketing would really count even if he were a wizard of Harry's type. ;)

lol, true. Bad example. That wouldn't really be "winning it" or whatever.

Might be a stupid question but is this going to be strictly Marvel stuff, with Harry being the exception, or are you going to take single DC characters too? Kind of wish a few Titans would join this team >_>

But i guess, with Captain America, Thor and Spider-man joining, the team is going to be big enough as it is, no need to unnecessarily complicate it with DC characters.

It should count since all Grindelwald did was steal it off of the shelf at Gregorovitch's shop. The only question would be if it would work for a non-wand wizard or not.

That said, Harry negated it by punching Loki in the face and stealing it back.

Well, yeah. That makes sense. It was the word 'disarm' that set the alarm bells ringing.

But the Death Stick did not have a master at that point. It was just lying on a shelf not being used.

What makes you say that? Why wouldn't Gregorovitch be its master? He had to get it from somewhere/one and the wand then followed Grindelwald. Just because he wasn't using it for power he still should have been its master.

Even Dumble's plan would have only worked if the next master didn't know and any future masters never got a hold of it, unlike Harry in canon.

Really? "Dumble's" gets a face palm because I didn't feel like writing "Headmaster Dumbledore's?"

    O...k...

    Fixed that for you.

Also yeah -- sloppiness like typing "Dumble's" instead of Dumbledore or AD or the Headmaster or Albus or something else not stupid won't get you far here.
