Hello all, I know its been awhile...lol.

I was wondering has seen or is writing/planning on writing any
Warhammer/HP X-overs (whether they be fantasy or 40k)?

I've been reading a very sweet one lately but it's been so long between updates that I can't even remember the bloody name...

It would be a sweet AU or time-travel story in my opinion as long as its not slash or "G" rated lol.

P.S. If this post shudda gone anywhere else just let me know.

Actually a member of DLP: Mordecai, is writing a very nice 40k/HP crossover which can be found here. The updates are a bit on the slow side but it's the only good crossover of this kind that I have read.

    Lets see...

Warhammer Fantasy: Harry gets corrupted by chaos and burnt by a witch hunter or mutated into a mewing chaos spawn.

Warhammer 40k: Harry gets corrupted by chaos and burnt by an inquisitor, blow to fuck by a Space marine, or mutated into a mewing chaos spawn...

Yeah, umm, I replied to your other thread by accident. The whole 3rd chapter should be out soon if I can be arsed to write the ending to it.

Psycko, wtf are you on about? Harry wouldn't get corrupted by chaos unless he chose to be corrupted by chaos. And it is likely that he has just enough intelligence to realise that that is not what he should do. In Fantasy he would be taken in by the Colleges of Magic if he turned up in the empire, by an order of priests of some sort if he turned up in Bretonia, and by a mage of some sort if he turned up with the High or Wood elfs. He would be sacrificed to Kane if he turned up with the Dark Elfs, eaten alive by dinasaurs if he turned up in Lustria and ok, he would probably turn to chaos if he turned up in the Chaos Wastes. The skaven would eat him and the dwarfs would send him under escort to the empire probably.

In 40K, he would be more likely to be taken in by the Inquisition if he is young, or even taken in by the Space Marines as a Librarian so long as he isn't overly old.

I always thought a Warhammer Fantasy crossover with Harry Potter would be good, just because of the sheer variety of spells if you go by the old 5th edition Magic box. That and I like their explanation of magic, it flowing through the air in 'winds' from another plane, you could explain that is why Hogwarts wards are so powerful ,they lie on the main line for say High magic since that is the protection one.

For 40k crossovers Mordecai's is the most promising one I have seen, the only other ones tend to involve a Space Marine squad just killing wizards or something equally strange with no plot.

Never say that again Mort, I love that fic lol. I like how you got Harry into the universe in the 1st place too, very original. Two words "up" "date".
    Nice to speak to y'all.

The possabilites of writing a story based on a crossover with Harry Potter and WarHammer wheither it be Fantasy or 40k is just so.....briliant. I have read a few, and they generally have good ideas, but the authors I have noticed abandon them sometime near the begging, which I don't see why. I mean you can do so much, and it is so good why would you just stop?

Alas, woe is me until I find the answer.

The WarHammer theries of magic, are great, and extremely well written. The differance between the races leaves unlimitted possibilites of things one could do. Weither Harry would go and learn for the Dark Elves or Lizardmen for example.

Or perhaps going to fight with the Orcs, and learning "Psychic" power along the way in a 40k universe.

I havn't read your story yet Mordecai, I will have to look into it. People say it is pretty good.

The problem that most folk have with writing an warhammer xover, is the sheer volume of information and backstory that is part of the warhammer world. Take fantasy, in 6th edition, every army book provided indepth history of the race, how is relates to the other races and such like. Most players only ever read one or two army books. I personally know all the shit cause my brother and i bought all the army books as they came out. But without having read it all, it is so easy to make a lot of mistakes, simple and major, without realising it. And then you get folk who pick up on the mistakes and tell you about them, and it seems as though all you get are critisisms because people just keep pointing out the errors, that are caused by the mass of information.

The same applies to 40K, though it is different, because there is about 5 times as much fluff for the Imperium as for any of the other races. And there is also maybe twice as much fluff for Chaos as there is for any of the Xenos scum. So even though you can write a complete epic length novel for 40K that involves no one but the Imperium itself, there is still loads of information that you must know or step around or whatever.

Yeah that's true, and a lot of fluff about each race or army disappears or is added to with a new edition, for example in 5th edition Fantasy there were no Strigoi Vampires, in 6th there is four pages of fluff for them in their army book. Or in 40k second edition had Squats, 3rd they just disappeared. I still think a good Fantasy crossover wouldn't have to go that in depth, have Harry transported to a remote island somewhere with an aging experienced wizard and then just have him explain about their magic teach him some before sending him back.

You could do that, or you could have the Imperial Colleges of Magic teaching. Simply say that the apprentices are all kept isolated from the main populace for safety reasons. You would only have to introduce a small number of OC's, the teachers basically, and mentions of a small number of otehrs, fellow students. In a place like the Empire, I can't see you having to worry about friendships, as who would want to have a friendship familyless, unconnected person who seems to have no real place in the Empire at all. Even the wierdo's from the outer villages wouldn't want to have anything to do with him. To politically unreliable for that.

All of that stuff is completely to which bums me out lol, I myself have only read "some" of the fantasy rule books, mainly orc/goblins, empire, and high elves; the problem with the books is that they are so damn expensive (for me anyway lol)....
But the idea about the colleges of magic is pretty sweet.
