You have to understand, that in the context of your initial post, that statement sounds akin to Michael Jackson (preparenthood) saying "Oh I'm not a pedophile child molester, I just like kids and I like to have them around, b/c I don't have any"

 

Spooky: Go to Fanfiction.net, go to the first page, there's bound to be slash. Or, got to the search engine, type SLASH, something will come; or the pairing e.g Harry/Snape, Harry/Draco, Harry/This is gross and sick.

 

HA! My site doesnt cater to me, it caters to everyone. In most forums you would be banned for your post. It was offensive to me.

I did just read the rules page and dont see where I have broken any of the rules posted there. I didn;t post any slash, I said I hated it. (I also hate Harry Ginny.) I loathe slash, and if it's something everyone else here loathes, too, then don;t recommend any. It's that simple. I will look at the recs that were offered by the friendlier people here and if I like what I see, I will contact those authors to see if they would like thier work archived.

Why do you care what I host??? Don;t answer that. I really don;t care why. Xpho wasn't "right" about what he said, because he didn;t really say anything at all.

EDIT: You people are posting too fast for me. I would look around for slash, but I only post well-written fics and going to ff.net would mean I would have to read them. No thanks. I think a few people are making something out of nothing. I am being blatanly attacked here for saying I didnt want to read slash. This is ridiculous.

2ND EDIT: Midknight, I hate to say it, but you're right. My initial post did come across wrong, tho in my next post I was quite vocal with my opinion of slash. Just for the record, I think it's vile and disgusting. However, many, many readers want it, and so I had decided to post some, as long as I didn;t have to actually read it. I thought I could depend on others to chose them for me, if they were inclined to read it as so many HP fans seem to be. Someone else said I wanted to read harry/teacher. Again, for the record, adult/child pairings, of any orientation, are forbidden on my site. That's just WRONG. As for my initial post, I said I was so in need of slash because that is the emptiest of archives. That was the only reason. I'm also desperately in need of humor.

So, you can all stop attacking me. Some of it seems rather childish to me, like I had suddenly reverted back to middle school or something. I was simply looking for a few new stories so I could list those authors alongside award winning writers.

I am writing these posts while trying to code new pages and also edit my own story, so forgive me if I'm a little distracted.

 

I heard the series by " Lightning on the wave " is supposed to be good, but I can't read it because I know it'll end up in slash. Its like, why construct a building if you know its going to be destroyed.

 

I couldn;t agree more. There is no place for slash in HP imho, because JKR didn;t write any homosexual characters. Writers have every right to create whatever they want in thier stories, but we, as readers, have the same right to not read it. However, I don;t understand why someone would write a great story, and ruin it by jolting thier readers right out of the scene with something so "off canon."

Not to willingly agree with you, but I rather like my site with such a "pitiable" slash archive. I really don;t want it there at all, but I post what my readers want. I have 2 slash stories there now. One I read most of. It was very tasteful and had no sex in it. I didn;t mind posting that so much. At least it wasn;t a total gross-out. The other was written by a fantastic author who I already had archived, so I have never even looked at it. I was thinking of posting 5 slash stories total, just to appease the users of my site. I'm MUCH more interested in developing what I desire to be the star attraction; the Slytherin archive "Tales from the Dark Side," where all stories must feature a slytherin as the main character. Perhaps I should have asked for those instead in my first post, but I hadn't yet realized this forum was anti-slash. Can I apologize to everyone for mentioning slash and let's all get over it? Slash sucks, but a lot of other people love it. I don;t understand that, but like he said, 80 pages of slash lovers on one site.

Please do not throw my eyes at Ginny. Anyone but her. *gags*

- Darkness Reigns Supreme by Dark-Syaoran (Very good indy!Harry).

- Anarkia by Naia (AU where Harry is taught at a different school other than Hogwarts and returns to England, where Voldemort has risen using the PS).

- Equal and Opposite by Amerision (A great Harry/Harry's girl self from a different dimension).

- Malignant Objects by Charlie -dashdot- Blue (A great dark story with a noir atmosphere. Contains slash as well as het. Very well written).

- Soul Play by Snapesforte (Well written post-HBP Snape-centric).

- Potter's Resistance 1: Breaking Ties by IP82 (Indy!Harry with great ideas).

- Browncoat, Green Eyes by nonjon (Crossover, but you really should take a look, it's quality and plot are amazing).

- Sistat Inter Bitu pe Marvos by Cervus (Best post-HBP story out there, characters are well depicted and close to canon, yet not infuriating like JKR's Harry).

Slytherin archive "Tales from the Dark Side," where all stories must feature a slytherin as the main character.

I think I'm right in saying that most of the stories on this site are Harry-Centric, so unless you wanted Harry as a Slytherin AU stories you wouldn't get many here, although there are a few Tom Riddle fics I think...

 

I'm trying to expand Slytherin, which includes the much lauded fic "I Am Lord Voldemort" by Nemesis, but I also have a Gryffindor archive, romance, and humor. Gryffindor includes and general or action/adv story. Of course, most of the stories I have fall into the Gryf, Slyth, and romance categories, but I've had the same stuff up for so long, years, that I'm losing readers. I lost 2 of my biggest draws (after my own stories) because they were abandoned. I also found that a few of the stories younger readers recommended - and I posted - were total shit, so away they went. Therefore, I need pretty much anything.

I forgot to mention that I no longer accept incomplete stories due to the immense amount of work that goes into archiving them, only to have them abandoned. I also don;t accept anything the average reader would be horrified by, like rape, incest, NC-17, etc. The guidelines for submissions on my site state that a heavy "R" is ok, but should have a "Mature" rating. Hope that helps. (Personally, I love Harry as a main character.) Also, I love AU stories. I find they're often more imaginative than those that strictly adhere to canon. *Yawns* lol
