    My top 3 most anticipated:

    1. Amazon LotR TV show

    2. Hogwarts Legacy

    3. Fantastic Beasts 3

If we knew more about it, Final Fantasy XVI might have made the cut. But that is mostly nostalgia factor. I haven't really considered any mainline FF game "must play" since FFX. Still waiting for the return of the world map...

Witcher Season 3 would also be in the mix but we don't have a release date for that.

FF16 is definitely high on the list. The guy in charge of FF14, and who made it from a dumpster fire into an absolutely fantastic single player RPG and the best Final Fantasy game made since FF6 inside an also excellent MMO, is also in charge of FF16, so it's pretty much an automatic purchase for me.

Only other thing I'm really hype for is Darktide, the Warhammer 40k version of Vermintide. Vermintide's a L4D clone with a Warhammer fantasy skin, with a ludicrously deep melee combat system that makes it into one of my favorite games of all time. Darktide is looking to be that in a 40k skin, except also with just as much TLC put into the ranged combat as well, and I am beyond hyped for it. Once it comes out, I'll almost certainly dive in head first and not come back out for a week.

I'm both excited and not excited for the new HP game. Excited because everything I've seen looks dope, and I want to live vicariously through a dark wizard. Unexcited because the Devs recent history (read: Disney Cars games and Disney Infinity... We're a long way from the Rampage Games, prince of Persia, and Tak) is uninspiring.... And that puts it lightly.

Despite allll that. I'll watch House of the Dragon lol. Ditto with Pokemon Legends: Arceus, Elden Ring, and Starfield games wise.

    Special mention movie/TV wise to:

    Moonfall
    Thor: Love and Thunder
    Fantastic Beasts 3
    Jurassic World: Dominion
    Spider-Verse 2
    Lightyear
    Avatar 2
    Kenobi
    Book of Boba Fett
All Quiet on the Western Front

Like FFXVI, this is very much in the "reserve judgment" category for me. So many ways it could end up being shit, from poor performance/bugs to just failing to progress the franchise enough. I'm hoping it will be a transformational change where the games finally live up to how Pokemon training and battling was depicted in the anime, with your position and movements on the battlefield mattering to combat, and moves properly interacting with the environment (and other moves) in interesting and dynamic ways. But given the franchise history I am not holding my breath.

    @Taure

My nightmare is that they're circular re Gamefreak and success of Arceus. The game is shit and has shit sales therefore they give up on the concept.

Video games in general. Next year is looking to be huge.

Particularly Horizon 2. We've not seen enough of 16 yet, but I'm hankering for another FF game.

Arceus just looks like a bigger version of the Wild Zone from SwordShield, I don't see how it could be anything beyond good.

The collapse of the economic system.

If that doesn't work out, maybe the new Trails games will get an official English translation. That'd be neat; I need more JRPGs.

    Hogwarts Legacy has 2 problems

    1. it's an MMO in the live-service era of games
    2. the studio's recent credits are all movie-license games

I'm excited to see Belle, it's supposed to be Summer Wars meets beauty and the beast.

I'm also looking forward to ffxvi, but given how xv went, I'm expecting a delay for quality. Terra Invicta should come out too, if the Colorado fires haven't pushed development back too far.

I too look forward to more elves with Lord of the rings.

I'm hesitantly hopefully that Exalted Essence will get finished by the end of the year, it's turning into my favorite table top RPG.

It's not? Unless something changed it's a single player open world game.

I've been looking forward to this a lot as well. Terra Invicta looks like just my kind of jam.

I hadn't noticed this post was under Movies, Music & TV Shows, so I expected to see different answers and wanted to write that my No1 wish/expectation is to fall in love, my No2 for the pandemic to end and all measures to go away with it. But well, since that's not what's being asked:

I'd like for the Winds of Winter to be released in 2022 (although I think I've seen something for 2023), I'd love to see the next season of WestWorld, but I don't know if it's to be out in 2022, and that's about it. I'm not into games that much (I am playing a portal mod now and loving it, but that's about it).

And I can't say I'm a huge ASOIAF fun, so truthfully I'm only expecting new WestWorld episodes, and even then I had to think about it, it's not really on my mind. Oh, and I'd like to see the new Matrix movie

TWOW is always a year from being released and it probably never will. GRRM had a very good start of the 2021 when he posted that he finished a few chapters, very unusual for him to say anything about it, but even then admitted he has many more to go and after that it appears that he slowed down again.

Westworld S4 will be this year. It was in HBO teaser for 2022.

I've heard from credible sources that WoW will be released the same year as Half-Life 3 and a good Highlander sequel.

Honestly, Sonic Movie 2 is actually pretty high on the list.

Zelda sequel, if it's not delayed. [It will be]. Kirby might be interesting as well.
