I agree with Shinysavage. Despite the relationship between Harry and Draco and the heavy, angst-focused and -driven plot in Lightning on the Wave's Sacrifices, the magic system and general worldbuilding make it a very compelling read.

In addition, The Power He Knows Not by Steelbadger and DisobedienceWriter's The Wizard of Harrenhal are both fairly good stories.

 

Personally, I really like The eyes by Shadenight123. It draws a lot from HP Lovecraft but it's written in a really unique way. The ending quite fitting and it's not too long, only about 19k words. Despite that, it had me gripped the whole time
