I never really understood that fic. It is funny, but some part of it is just really creepy. The molestation, the gay thing, bible shaming, and the end was freakin wtf.

 

Basically this. I felt the start was strong and it was going to be one of the better bro-fics out there, but it quickly turned into a pile of shit that was still highly liked. Given the aforementioned problems by Hero it blows my mind.

I second a lot of the recs on this thread so not going to repeat the obvious ones, but only saw Timely Errors by Worfe mentioned once so I'll throw it in again. One of my favorites among others that I constantly reread.

 

Wow. Somehow I'd never even heard of this, and now I wish I wouldn't have - that was way too good to be abandoned so quickly.

 

I warned you. Anyway, I really like the interplay between Harry and James as well. The author did a good job of portraying a widowed father that stays strong for the sake of his children. Enter Harry.
