What do you picture canon Harry as? (Radcliffe doesn't count!)

Dark Harry - M. Shadows from Avenged Sevenfold in the music video Bat Country.

Canon Harry is solid muscle though he has a small build. He has bright green eyes and has been manipulating everyone since the sorting hat. I mean the sorting hat did have it's reasons.

    Dunno what book you're reading ;) .
I picture Canon Harry as smaller than average, intense emerald eyes, with extremely unruly hair. Very very unruly. Dan Radcliffe could certainly look like canon Harry, but he doesn't do it for me. Too baby-ish in the first movies, now seems alright but just doesn't seem to work. Hasn't really hit a happy medium.
I don't see much muscle on Canon Harry, if any. Scrawny.

When I first saw the movies I hated that they hadn't made Radcliff wear green contacts. And I hate Radcliff's hair in the fourth movie (mullet). And the bathroom scene?! Ugh. -pasty-

Here's a pic of emo!Harry: (Justin Burford, lead in EoF)

They tried to get Radcliff to wear the contacts, but I hear they had to give it up because they were irritating the twerp's eyes. The producers should take a slice out of his paycheck, then use the cash to have his eye's CG'ed the correct color.

    What a whiny bitch.

Harry's just not the same without the eyes.

I did say that Harry has a small build but you must also consider all of the work he does during the summer and the Quidditch training during the school year must have built up a lot of muscle on him and add that to the fact that he doesn't eat much then I doubt there is any fat on him at all. That is where I get my image from element.

It wasn't so much your solid muscle comment as the "manipulating everyone since the sorting hat" comment. As far as I know, canon Harry hasn't been manipulating anyone :p .
By the way, IMO Quidditch training doesn't do anything for muscle. Sitting your ass on a flying piece of wood wouldn't do much I think.
The work he does during the summer, perhaps. I haven't read the books for a while so I can't quite remember how much he does or what he does.

He works a shitload, but that really doesn't do much help for your muscle mass unless you have zip, or you're doing the kind of work that says 'I'm-moving-hundred-pound-boxes-fifteen-at-a-time-for-five-hours-straight'. It just stabilizes your hip, makes that area and your back solid- not bulky, nor too scrawny, nor necessarily normal mass; just enough to easily support your own weight in extrenuating situations.

Canon Harry for me is small when he's young, but not too small. He's thin, but not necessarily scrawny.

When he's older, sorta like this picture except without the attitude and quasi-asian looks. and shorten the hair a bit. And the mustache.

We don't now much about the muscle used to control the broom or what all they do during Quidditch practice. The comment about Harry's manipulation came from the fact that people are willing to do things for Harry they wouldn't do for other poeple. They will follow him into life or death situations and do things that are against their very nature like Hermione breaking the rules. I don't think he manipulates people on purpose. He does it without realizing it.

I picture Harry as a short and thin kid with some solid but small muscles from his work during the summer.

One thing I hate is when people act like Quidditch training is extremly physically demanding. He is just sitting on his ass all the time. Some of the other possitions, as Beater or Chaser would build muscle.

I think Harry works out behind the scenes of the book. I mean he has to do something to maintain the right build for a seeker.

I think seeking defines muscles rather than build them. You have to be able to hold the broom steady and make sharp turns which needs at least some arm stregnth.

I don't picture canon characters as the actors, they simply aren't similar enough, so, all I have of the characters are blurry images in my mind, or some extremely well done fanarts.

One actor I think would've been excellent as Harry is the kid who made Billy Eliot, can't remember his name.

And they could cast Jenna Jameson as Narcissa.:D

Frodo Baggins. I dunno why, but I've been picturing Harry as Frodo Baggins' twin for quite some time now. Which is really strange, considering before the LotR movies, I always pictured hobbits as being rather... square-ish.

Well all these responses are certainly descriptive, but for the most part The faces of the characters are blurry except for certain situations. I can sometimes see Harry but mostly no. I have to agree with Amerision about Ron and Hermione's description. I just cant get that buck tooth, frizzy ugly hair picture out of my mind and now when ever i re-read any of the actual harry potter books, i just seem to get really pissed off everytime Hermione speaks. Does any one else feel that way?

    or is it just me?

I also hate Herman with a vengeance. I just want to smash the bitch into non existence. I wish there was an annual Herman kill off, because I really hate her character (from the books and films).

I think Harry looks like Spencer Moon (Christopher Parker)[IMG]

But with longer hair, intense green eyes, and scrawny.

I also have this problem, but it depends on the story I'm reading. When reading the books, I picture a taller Frodo Baggins with the matching eyes/hair characterizations described.

When reading fanfic my mind jumps through various fanart's I've seen depending on the description, but I don't really think on it much. Just a subconscious thing, I suppose.

Radcliffe has never even come close to threatening my mental image. He's just a crappy actor of movies I refuse to watch. *shrugs*

BIG ASS DISCLAIMER!: I have absolutely no right to post this picture whatsoever.

The guy on the left is a picture of someone who ran a Harry Potter Forum I was heavily involved in about 5 or 6 years ago. This isn't the best one (there was a picture he posted at some time showing him asleep on an airplane where he even pointed out how much he looked like Harry Potter) but I couldn't find that picture. Anyway, if you give him a lanky, but short body, and slightly messier and shorter hair, this is sort of how I pictured Harry Potter.

Rounder glasses, green eyes, and a scar and you got it to a tee.
