When the curse rebounded, what the hell happened to his body? I have never imagined that his body just lay there. I always got the impression that there wasnt a body, dunno why.

 

I do believe Dumbledore said it crumbles to dust. How he knew, no one knows, but that is the wonders of JK's world. Nothing makes sense.

 

Just chalk it up to 'magic' and everything is alright. For example...

Harry: Hey old man... whatever happened to Voldemort's body?
Dumbledore: Well, you see Harry, there was a complex series of events which occurred in tandem, causing the body to cease to exist on this plane of reality.
Harry: That's what you always tell me... but what does it really mean?
Dumbledore: It means that the backlash of energy resulting from the failed curse executed an unknown phenomena.
Harry: ...?
Dumbledore: Well, in effect the physical being of Voldemort was completely obliterated by the swirling vortex of higher powers.
Harry: Now we're getting somewhere... I think I've heard that word obliterated before. Hermione said something about it once.
Dumbledore: So you understand?
Harry: As long as obliterated has something to do with toasters, then I'm pretty sure I've got it.
Dumbledore: ...
Harry: What?
Dumbledore: Harry... never mind. Voldemort's body is gone because magic happened.
Harry: Ohhhh... now I get it! Thanks a lot Dumbledore, its about time I started getting some straight answers out of you.

What about his WAND?

Did Peter go along for the kill and get it for him? I'd imagine that DUmbledore wouldn't let it out of his sight, since he apparently knew that the Fidelius had failed, and that James and Lili\y were dead.

Manipulative fuck.

 

I don't think they ever actually say what happened to it. Considering that no one has ever reflected a killing curse before (which means that a lot of power was probably used to do so), and also considering that the house was destroyed, I say there was an explosion of some sorts. Now, why that desinigrated Voldemort's body and not Harry, I have no idea. The power of love probably, knowing Rowling.

Spell backlashed and voldemort(dead) flies backwards hitting a candle which starts the mysterious fire which burns godrics hollow to the ground during all this voldie's soul escapes and Hagrid rescues Harry and voldemorts body is burned in the fiery inferno that was toddler harry's home

I think that Dumbledore burned Voldemort's body the first time he got there.
About the wand- I have a theory that Peter waited in the shadows and after hearing that his master died he turned into his animagus form and smuggled the wand outside. Then he probably hid it somewhere.

 

I think the same about the wand but I doubt that Dumbledore burnt Voldemort. I think either the magical backlash disintegrated Voldemort or this is a side effect of the Horcruxes. Maybe you must build a new body. It would be pretty easy if not. You're hit with a killing curse, your soul is separated from your body, your soul floats somewhere and your body lies around. The soul would just have to find the body and everything would be fine. Too easy.

 

I've been thinking about this for a while and think I remember Dum Bum telling Harry that Voldemort went to Harry with the intention of making another Horcrux. My theory is he took Nagini with him hoping to make her an Horcrux when he was derailed and accidently made Harry an Horcrux (parseltongue etc) that's if Dum Bum was truthfull. She probably out of respect ate his old body and took his wand for safety. Snakes are supposed to be pragmatic and she wouldn't want her Lord's body to be desecrated so it would be a better fate.

 

Speaking of Voldemort's wand, this makes me wonder if Peter used the wand in his 'death' and the killings. It'd be rather a bizzare thing if he did.

 

Are you sure of that. I thought Voldie kept his own wand and Cedric died by Peters wand. In any case the books point to Peter haveing Voldies wand (somehow).

It is possible for Peter to use Voldies wand if he had it at the time. But that would mean he was there at the Potter house when it happened. But there is no mention of that.

 

No, then cedric's 'ghostly shape' wouldn't have come out of voldemort's wand during the priori incantatem

 

JKR has said that there was someone at Godrics Hollow with Voldemort and we find out who it is in book 7...by bet is on Wormtail, perhaps something with him being the secret keeper...

So, whoever was there with him could have retrieved the wand. As for the body, the house blew up, so I suppose Voldemorts body was taken with it...
