Yes. I think so. It fails even harder than Kishi being a Sasuke fan boy.

Moving onward, Death Note DOES PWN. Full Metal Alchemist is good. So is Full Metal Panic. I, personally, prefer Panic. Novel over the Manga, but both are good. If you want lawlz Romance, Live Hina is good, I suppose, as is Mahou Sensei Negima. Ikkitousen is alot like Tenjou Tenge, which I enjoy.

I''s is a must. Is Drama, but good. W-Juliet, vaguely o_O, but amusing.

Skyhigh. Fucking awesome Manga. Its more a collection of short stories, each chapter involving a different character, but the character Izuko is present. Been a while since I read it, but if I remember it right, Izuko is a sort of spirit/goddess of some kind. She guides the souls of the dead to the after life. There are individual little plots for each chapter of the two volumes. The sequel, Skyhigh Karma, is a little different in that it seems to center on one character and whats happening to her. The art is beautiful, the stories are great, and its got a nice dark, gritty, noir feel to it. You can find it on Omanga's site.

Well... technically most of everything Omanga does is great. Alive, Blue Heaven, Jiraishin (those three done by the same mangaka as skyhigh), Freesia, lots of good stuff. They tend to do mainly dark-ish or noir stuff, but its all pretty good. If you can find Anne Freaks, I suggest pickig it up.

Full Metal Panic gets all angsty in the 3rd series and that makes it slightly irritating during those eps/chapters. Some people were scanlating and straight translating the manga a while ago before they stopped due to some bloody American anime/manga syndicate bought the production rights for FMP. But the first 2 series are wicked, especially the Kurz/Kazama/Ono-D perv mission.

Around volume 22 berserk gets pretty agnsty for awhile too. It really sucks when manga get you all adrenaline(sp) pumped and then drop to all emo-bullshit. Makes me get all emo-bullshit too because I'm all caught up in the story.

My favourite Manga would have to be Hellsing, one of the most goriest mangas even surpassing Beserk!

Who doesn't like vampires getting owned by a super-vampire who can shred enemies to pieces and then gorges on them! He's also got a kickass gun and his vampire apprentice (I know the head vamp who turns the person is called the sire but what are the turned persons called? Sirelings?) turns into a killing machine in around Vol.7 shredding the guy's face off.

What's wrong with One Piece? It's drawings may be not the best, even crude sometimes but it does have some funny instances and medicore to great fight scenes.

I am actually downloading the Hellsing manga right now. If anyone ever wants to read a romance manga, go read Basilisk. Lots of action with some bad ass powers (The main male character can make a person kill himself by looking at them, another character can kill a person by having sex with them, etc). Plus it's one of the only stories where you see a man with no arms or legs kill a man. I like the anime more than the manga though.

Hellsing is not gorier than Berserk! There is no manga made that has as much blood guts and gore than Berserk. Fighting vampires may be bloody bat Berserk takes the prize, you must not have read berserk before. the very birth of the protaginist in the story is a baby wallowing in the blood of the corpse of it's mother hung above him. And that is one of the least gory parts.

Read "Berserk before you make that assumption. People insulting "Berserk" always makes me go a little crazy.

P.S just shreding a guys face off is nothing in Berserk, in the second volume a man has his son tortured to death in front of him and it dosen't stop there his wife is raped and tortured to death in front of him then he has his nose eatin then his legs eatin only to be beheaded. That is just toucing the surface of only the second volume. The gore only gets worse each volume. "Hellsing" can kiss off!

Yeah, the gore in Berserk is nuts. I made the mistake of eating hot chicken wings while I was reading it once, I lost my appetite very quickly. I haven't read the Hellsing manga yet, but if the gore is comparable to the anime then Berserk wins hands down.

Wtf son? He was troubled in volume 23 because he wasn't sure that he could take care of Casca with all the spirits that try and eat his flesh every night. And what happens when two sacrificed stay in one place for long? Refer to the chapters with the holy fanatics of the church.

Also volume 23 was when he became possessed by the beast and nearly raped Casca I think?...so no shit if he feels a little bloody concerned at that stage. He ain't all bash and smash. ( Though someone did a kill roster on berserk a while back and apparently there was over 1000 fatalities. )

Naa Berserk was certainly never was emo mate. If you want a prime example of something like that go watch Evangelion. Shinji was fucking useless.

I have to say that the FMA anime/manga is pretty damn good, and the only problem I have with the anime, is that I found the concluding movie a bit lacking.

Death Note is high up in my list of favorite mangas, but what I noticed is that while the first few volumes were excellent and engaging, it got worst and worst as it came along. Of course, I've just finished volume 5 so I'm probably wrong, but that's my opinion for now.

I know that I'll probably get hell for this, but for some reason I enjoy Great Teacher Onizuka and Negima a bit.

Lastly, Hellsing is also great. And I don't know why- It's too flamboyant at times, the story is just too strange at times, but I like it.

The emo wasn't that bad but for berserk it is emoish(new word), it it made me feel sorry for him. Work that hard just to get his and in a bout of insainity tries to rape her... Poor guts, damn grifith.

Yeah he has it rough. The story went sorta slow from volume 23 to 30 or so. Took a long time to get to the boat :p. Getting pretty interesting now though with Griffith preparing to face off Ganishka while having the backing of the pope and the midland armies. They all adore the bugger now.

Gutts sure has a long way to go.

Depends on which version of the anime you are talking about, the main series or the OAV (which is a whole lot better than the main series).

Then again, Berserk would still win the gore fest...

Recently found Yotsuba&, a cute and innocent series that makes Berserk all the more horrid...In a good way!

The anime "berserk" is just a toned down version of "The Golden Years" saga of berserk. The manga has alot more rape cursing and blood, like guts getting raped as a kid. *STRONG EMO-BULLSHIT*

On my "gross and gore" (G&G for short) list the last chpter of the 25th volume of "Berserk" is topping the gross charts. find it and download it to see what I'm talking about... I vomited at the end.

I "have" read Beserk so I think I'm a little inclined to my opinion. Of course, I've only read up to Vol. 3 since I don't know where to torrent it from >_> or how much gorier it can be. Also, wtf does rape have to do with anything of gore? Unless that is the raped is getting their bodily pieces torn apart in the process. I'll take back my statement of Hellsing being gorier when I get a chance to read Beserk, till then I'll keep my opinion.

Also, what are you talking about me dissing Beserk? I was just stating my god damn opinion and maybe you should follow your own advice! Read Hellsing before giving it your unbiased judgement.

When it is grotesque monsters doing the raping and like in the movie alien, little monters rip through stomachs. Blah! Uhhhggg!

I will say it only once: story, artwork, battes and the characters.
These four aspects in "Berserk" are the main things that make it so good. The characters have real emotions. The story is hands down one of the best things I have seen... and that doesn't just include anime stories.

Death Note, but the ending sucked. Strangely enough my second favorite is Ah! My Goddess, (I Love Lind, and Hild). Besides who wouldn't want a Goddess for a girlfriend.

Trigun & FMPanic are tied for manga for me... the latter with a slight edge. Cold war FTW.

For anime - it'd have to be Saiyuki Reload tied up with Gokusen (yes, I know it was made for girls and later adapted to a drama... doesn't matter, there's so much pwnage in it.) and maybe Dragonball.

Eh... I like Hellsing best, just for how WTF it is. Beserk comes pretty close, but... No. I'm not the biggest fan of gore. Despite the fact that Hellsing waxes fairly cliche at times, it is pretty old and updates slowly, so I can easily forgive that. I like the eccentricity of it, and of how it expresses religion and a dedication to it. The manga really highlights the superficiality of it all (in an agnostic kind of way), and of how far people are willing to go for their beliefs. Really puts a huge focus on the dedication and humility, as well as the fanaticism generally associated with it. I also liked how it showed people using their clerical position for their own gain, and the controversy interwoven in it all.

I really actually tend to ignore the gorey parts. But I do like how crazy the series is in general. Beserk was pretty good for horror, but... I don't like horror. :/. The general quality still makes it ONE of my favorites, but...

That's just for the tension of it, though. For comedy I like random crap like Yubisaki Milk Tea and Rozen Maiden which leave me really confused, but nonetheless amused. Though I don't think these actually supposed to be comedies, but, whatever... I do like Rozen Maiden for plenty of other reasons, though.

I never really liked Beserk and never really got into it because it never really got to me. Hellsing on the other hand, i gotta agree with you there Medies.

Anyhow Eyeshield 21, love the character developments, deep plots, especially with there unique characters and some cliche parts. Hell the only reason i even read the manga is partly because of the devil haired guy. That guy makes me lolz all the time.

    UnbalancedX2 is also good.

Extremely good and love every minute. It's humor and romance with a little bit of action. Basically it's about a 19 year old high school student with a hot school teacher. One of my fantasies come true. lol

I basically read manga online and only download when i have really no choice. Here is some good places.

    http://mangarun.com/

If any of you know any good places to read manga online it would be cool if you can share.

I have just started reading Claymore. I have watched what's out for the anime right now. I think it is very good, has a good plot and good fight scenes in the anime. Lots of blood too, main character gets punched through the gut, and lots of demons being decapitated.
