I figured all of you would be amused (or at least be willing to snicker maliciously) at the thought of a poster I found at the fifth movie's website. There's Hermione, Luna, and Cho....but no Ginny.

Thoughts, anyone?

 

It has been a while since I read OOTP, so I could be out in left field with this but are not they the three main teenage female characters in the Book? If so then no Gin-Gin makes sense. Of course I am most likely wrong...

Also for something completely different, I was reading somewhere that J.K told the people writing the script to put in a certain character. If they didn't they would have a hard time with movie 7... I wonder who it is.

 

Gin-Gin is an ugly little cunt in the movie anyways. I promise you, they are going to get another girl to play her part before HBP.

I agree with dark, it does make sense. I always invisioned Cho to be taller and Luna to be hotter, though.

 

Neville I bet. I movies have been playing him up more than the books. He helped in the second task in the movies not the book.

I bet he fights Bella in the 7th book thus they need to play up the connection in the movies or everyone will be WTF when fat boy takes down the top DE.

 

It was Kreacher (to the question of what character was removed but told by Rowling to keep in).

 

Actually this actress is not what I had pictured for the character of Cho. Also Luna seems to be giving off a piss me off and I will rip off your head vib, that is not the Luna I invisioned. Herman is just Herman...

 

Ahh, I just opened it up to see the enlarged version. Cho has no tits!!

The movie is just getting worse and worse for me. We're watching it at one of the imax theaters, too, but at least their'll be lots of people with me.

 

But the IMAX theaters give 3-D glasses! You can see the end in 3-D! (sarcasm is in abundance)

Actually Luna looked pretty fine in that picture. Herman indeed still looked like Herman and Cho was too short and stocky for how I imagined her. Luna though- I'd bang her.

 

I actually like the Luna they casted. Her hair was exactly what I pictured for Luna. I agree that they have to recast Ginny. She has this whole... freckled, tiny, girl-next-door deal going on in the movies, and her making out with Harry would seem very creepy (not that it doesn't already, imo).

 

You're right, I'd bang her too. I wasn't thinking of this picture, where it looks like she's lost some weight and has long, nice hair, but the first photo they put out of her where she looked like Neville's long, lost sister. *sigh* Luna is hotter then Cho. This is wierd.

 

Cho's hot. There's no denying that. And the fact still remains that if Harry banged Cho (or Fluer) they'd produce children that would make other spawn of the HP world look like grandpa's man tits.

I still say Luna has a more exotic look. So I personally find the actress suitable for the role, and quite attractive.

Ginny is just...ugh. I never got over picturing her mousy and plain-looking ever since I read book two. So an ugly Bonnie Wright kind of suits that role.

 

Argh, no offence to you Goofykilledher, but what is up with the "Fluer" naming going around the boards. It is Fleur Delacour, a French play on words meaning Flower of the court. Fluer just looks weird and sounds even worse.

Although this thread is rather old (shakes head at Goofykilledher), the Director is going to have serious issues with Ginny in HBP and DH. She hasn't appeared in many scenes so far, she is not good looking enough for the audience to ignore it.

Let's presume someone has not read the book and only seen the movies. They will wonder who the hell Ginny is and how come Harry's monster in the chest is manifesting itself. (they would earn bonus points from me if they use the Alien style monster when Harry is considering Ginny's spotted skin) If they recast her, they will have broken continuity.

 

I've only read the later books one time each, so I don't actually remember the (apparently) famous "chest monster" line. It does sound pretty unpleasant. Besides, don't adolescent boys feel their "romantic affection" rather lower in their torsos?

Assume that JKR patterned the romantic aspect of her plots after Tolkein's LotR. Arwen was the only love interest that any of the Fellows had during the RingWar, and she was only mentioned a few lines 'til after the Scouring. I figure that JKR wanted everyone to be fairly confident that Harry would live happily ever after, but she didn't want any of her readers to NOT worry about The Girl. By not actually confirming anyone's preferred romantic interest, she kept all the pre- and adolescent girls enthralled and could give us one more thing to worry about.

Maybe they plan to script the last two movies with more Ginny-moments? Or just produce her at the epilogue as Harry's-found-somewhere-in-the-last-two-decades-or-so Twu Wuv?

 

I just pray that the script writer actually has some intelligence, and pairs Harry with Hermione. And at the same time, has Greyback mutilate her face rather than Bill's.

It'll never happen, but I can still hope for it.
