Yeah, I've been watching The Vampire Diaries and the Originals pretty religiously for a year or two. I'm vampire trash.

I did attempted to watch the latest season of Once Upon a Time, but it was physically painful.

Gotham also counts as entertaining and terrible at the same time.

You remember the episode where Shawn joined a cult and then Mr. Turner got into a bike accident and Shawn screamed at the heavens for god to help him? Cuz I do.

BTW, going back after all these years and watching the show is just hilarious. It's amazing how many just-about-to-be-famous people were in the show. Like Adam Scott as that bully or Linda Cardellini as that home wrecker. Or Kristanna Loken for a certain value of "famous."

Watching Scandal with the misses occasionally, so, so bad.

Worst TV president I've ever watched in my entire life.

My "guilty pleasure" tho, is probably the HawaiiFive 0 remake.

Well, season 5 of Grimm starts tonight. I'm at the point of hate-watching that show. The only reason I stick with it is because my mother-in-law and I have a blast picking it apart every week.

We both enjoyed it until season 3, when it slowly just unraveled itself. Looking back, I also realized that the main character has virtually zero characterization. He's a blank slate. I have no idea how their shiny mirrors made me miss that before.

Am I crazy? Do we know a freaking thing about Nick Burkhardt besides his job and species? Any likes/dislikes, hobbies, favorite color, etc?

I'll be watching Grimm. The show has improved a lot. At its beginning is was a extremely formulaic, typical-poor-network-TV cop drama that ignored everything good about cop dramas, with a side of monster-of-the-week. Ugh.

I'm surprised that you think that Nick has no characterisation now. He had none in the beginning, but during recent seasons he's gone through a lot of trials and his personality is positively shining through compared to the blank face he was in season one.

This is a snippet of a review from early in S1:
    The wife and whats-his-face. Exactly.

If you check out our Grimm thread, we've been half enjoying, half bashing the show for a while now.

The last season was been a big diversion from the earlier ones, and I'm hoping that they can hold the new season together. I'm happy that Fish Face has sort of left, but I've been hoping that she'd get brutally murdered and leave the cast since day one. She and Nick were terrible together.

My brother and I binged on Grimm right up until around the Nick/whatever-her-name-was baby drama. Then we bailed, did it get any better after that because it was becoming painful.

Sort of. The baby doesn't absorb much screen time, which is good, but it does have a continued presence in the story as a macguffin.

The main plot gets darker from that point. We're introduced to Trubel, Nick's mother makes another appearance, Juliette becomes evil [I wish she'd just disappear], and the supporting cast members start taking a larger role in the story: Hank, Wu, the Captain, even Adalind, and others step up a bit. There's some background plot going on with vessen in the executive branch of the US government who don't seem to be aligned with old Europe.

The baby was terrible, and the show hasn't fully recovered, but there are some great episodes in there. I think it's worth continuing with.

I bailed on Grimm early, around the whole mind-rape-weird-triangle with his missus and the chief monster dude.

It pains me to answer this question with 'Castle', but it's definitely taken a turn for the terrible this season, but I can't stop watching because Nathan Fillion.

I agree he's more forceful, but it all seems to be in reaction to stuff happening. What I mean by characterization are the little details you learn along the way that make up a person. We haven't had any little details to tell me who Nick is as a person outside of his job/calling. They've given tons of those to secondary characters, but none to Nick. I just find it bizarre.

I'm actually really enjoying Grimm. Of course I never had any problems with the baby drama. I think my least favorite part of the series was season one.

Edit: My number one terrible TV Show that I watch is without a doubt Z Nation. It's so much of a guilty pleasure of me that it's almost good.

Grimm would be massively improved, if:

Julliette stayed the fuck dead. If the writers bring her back, that may just make me stop watching. I've loathed her writing/acting from the very first episode. Kinda like Lori/Andrea in the Walking Dead

But yeah, the only other truly, utterly, terrible tv show that I find myself watching is Supernatural.

Season 3 of the Newsroom. The first 2 seasons weren't bad (somewhat enjoyable, even, as a non-American) but the last one had no sense of plotting at all.

I've fallen down the rabbit hole that are all the bullshit mystery TV shows. Leftovers, Returned, etc.

I don't even know why I'm watching them. They all relay on not telling you shit, or just giving you information piecemeal, it's really not hard to keep a mystery that way.

    Sigh, yet I keep watching.

Z Nation on Sy Fy. I don't know why but it is the show that I look forward to watching the most.

I think it is because everyone on the show seems to be really enjoying themselves and the writing embraces the ridiculousness of it all.
