What the fuck is this, and how do I fix it?

I got home today, and turned my laptop on. It read the network fine, and then I removed a game I don't play anymore off my computer. After that I restarted, and when it started back up, it didn't read that my router was there, or even that my Wireless Card was connected, or so that image seems to indicate.

What I want to know is, is this a hardware of software issue?

If its a software issue, how would I got about fixing it? Note that I've already reinstalled all the wireless card drivers and software provided by the manufacturing company. As well as they're all Windows 7 supported.

Nothing short of that, I can't figure out what it is. If its a hardware issue, why the hell would it do it after it had already connected at one point today, but then won't reconnect now.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try a Restore Point? I've seen that problem once before, and a restore to before you removed the game seemed to do the trick.

No recovery points exist. I'm gonna have to reinstall Windows 7 and see if that fixes it. Didn't want to have to do this... I just hate being connected to a cord.

Start Menu -> msconfig -> services -> select right one -> save -> restart.

I've had zero config disable itself in XP a few times which caused a similar error. Don't know if Windows 7 uses zero config, but it might be worth checking. Unless you've already reinstalled it that is.

The other thing to check is if the software utility for your wireless card, sometimes Intel/Linxsys/ or other, hasn't taken over configuring your wireless and is disabled.

You will have to find it and look for an option which says 'use windows to configure wireless.' Once you select that you will be alright. If that is the cause of the problem.

Otherwise some laptops have a hard-switch which can turn the wireless card on and off. When it is off you will get that error too at times.

Finally, of course, you should look at services.msc like KrzaQ said.

Okay, so I fixed it. I had to end up reformatting because the entire computer fucked up not too long after the first post. It looked like something had fucked up my registry when I booted it into safe mode, because some values had two things for it, like there was backup files present. So, chances are I got some kind of virus or something, and it was just fucking my shit.

Rolled the firmware back, and then updated again on all my routers and reformatted everything in my house. Works fine now. Thanks to everyone that offered help.

Small tips: once installed, make an image of your hdd, that way you'll be able to put back windows in about half an hour if ever needed. And I don't see what your router's firmware has anything to do with your computer.

KrzaQ's tip is very good, but do watch out about what you enable or disable there, couple of years back I disabled some services (for more performance) only to be unable to install a game or 2 cause they needed it (giving weird ass errors that had nothing to do with it).

Off topic: Ah, the joys of windoze :p Glad I'm mostly rid of that!
Unfortunately I'm going to have to install windows again (needed for some dev things), but on the bright side win7 is a lot better than vista.

I'm aware of your tips. I was able to fix my computer because I had a Windows 7 disk ready so that I could repair it.

I did firmware on my router as a means to eliminate things that could be wrong. My wifi wasn't working, so I took the router out of the problem equation by redoing its settings. I was then able to determine it wasn't the router but my wi-fi card after some more trouble shooting.

Windows 7 isn't all that bad, and I can see it taking the place of XP in everyone's hearts given time. I have Windows 7 Professional, and I very much like it, and I plan to upgrade to Ultimate when my Bookstore at the Uni gets it in stock(only 15 dollars). Vista tried to be Windows 7, but they did everything wrong, and finally they've done something right.

In part, thanks for chiming in after the fact with useless information that just made you sound like a total dick to me. Kindly insert your cock into a trash compactor.

    Everyone else, <33.

Lol, what game fucked up your comp? That's pretty smart tbh, "remove our game and we fuck your shit up!"
