    It's been some time since I read this, but remember really enjoying it. It sits at 100k words.

    Shades-of-Grey-Book-I-The-Oncoming-Storm

    The author Wired Dragoon has sadly abandoned Book 2.

    The main character awakes in an abandoned city with the voice of a mad channeller, Caran Tureed ringing in his head. I can give more of a summary if you wish, but I don't want to spoil the story. I remember the writing/grammar etc being good.

    ^ this is good.

    Only criticism is that Mat is just a tiny bit one-dimensional. But Mat's tough. Gets a lot of things right.

    Short, worth a read for sure.
