Resurrexit by Master Slytherin, without doubt. There are longer stories, there are more plot-involved stories, but Resurrexit has an intriguing mystery with solid payoff, is as long as it needs to be, and does it characters amazingly well.

 

Personally i think the prisoners cipher could be really cool. Doesn't even necessarily have to be a harry potter movie, just a really interesting story that had some cool concepts. Also has a lot of stuff that critics seem to like in a movie.

 

I think Blue Steel would be a good one.

Browncoat, Green Eyes or A Black Comedy. Nonjon is a superbly talented writer and it showed in his fics which were always entertaining.

IIRC, he said he was concentrating on original works of his. Does anyone what happened with that? I would give whatever he wrote a chance.

You'd want finished fics though, since the wait for some of theses fics to complete would make the movies a moot point. Though if money was no object I might consider shelling some cash to get my favorite fics completed.

 

I second The Denarian Trilogy. Amazing work which has a unique take on magic.

Had it ever been completed, Serpant Sorcerer's trilogy probably would have made a fantastic "what if?" set of movies. I say this almost entirely on the strength of the ministry battle scene in his second story, by the way.

 

I'd say Terminal Justice or Browncoat Green Eyes

 

I think a fanfic that actually continues the current movie series but is an AU would be interesting. The Last Enemy, a one-shot, could be interesting to see on the big screen.

 

It would be interesting to see how Prince of a Dark Kingdom was translated into a movie. Perhaps a series?

I would love seeing the Harry vs Drakon and Voldemort vs Merlin fights on the big screen. I have been imagining them enough. The rest of the fic might need to be trimmed down a bit to fit into even a 3 hour movie, but the fight scenes would make up for it.

Also I agree with whoever said Skitterleap that would make a great TV series.

 

Harry Potter and the Boy who lived would be fun but I agree; Demon's Feign Merlin's Pain has amazing fight scenes that I'd love to see on screen, plus Voldemort there is just too smooth man.

Nah, I don't see how this could be a blockbuster. By far not enough action scenes (I'm not even sure if there ARE actual action scenes before year 4), lots of theoretical research that you can't simply disregard because it's a big part of what makes the story special.
Not exactly blockbuster material.

Tinn's The Song of the Trees would intrigue me as a movie.

Also, although many people disliked it, either The Quidditch World Cup (TheEndless7) or Number Games (jbern) would work for me as a sports feel good story.
