I'm all for Peter being the evil bastard but it doesn't really fit him

Xiph edit - Skittles: we have actual spoiler tags, that actually hide the text. Black text does not.

    Theory:

Peter wants some lewt that Neil has and kidnapped Kate to get it. I say this because he seemed legitimately jealous when he saw the place where Neil was living.

    Huh. I was thinking:

Kate is actually running another scam on Neil, but somehow Peter has found out what game she's running. He's already proven smart enough to catch Neil, plus he's spent the duration of the season warning Neil off from pursuing Kate. It could be for reasons other than tempering Neil's obsession.
but having written it out, I think I like your theory better.

I think yours is more likely, having seen it. Mine would be fun but I don't think they'd be willing to go that road.

It wouldn't surprise me terribly if Neil was banging a gold digging skank.

I like those ideas but my theory is basically

Remember what Fowler said "Who told you about Mentor?", I'm thinking there's something deeper to all of this, that letting Neal out of jail was the plan all along. The fact that they were watching Peter the whole time I think maybe this is some sort of program that Peter or his bosses if he has any were trying to recruit Neal for something. Taking Kate was just a cover to keep him from vanishing

    Theory:

Thinking about it I doubt that Kate is FBI/pulling a con/gold digger, remember the story about the wine bottle, they would fill it with cheap wine 'back when they had nothing' and promise themselves a better future, that suggests a too long term relationship for it to be some conspiracy.

Although it may be she got sick of Neil but wanted to leave with some of the money, so struck a deal with the FBI, her being 'kidnapped' would give them a willing Neil, an 'enormous asset' and she would eventually get Neil to give up his stash and vanish with it.

Or 'Progect Mentor' is a project of getting criminal experts to work with the FBI using a 'mentor' like Peter to keep an eye on them, Kate could have been persuaded that this would be whats best for Neil for whatever reason so goes along with it.

Damn, I'm full of conspiracy theories today.

They get Neil to work with them with a built in leash of Kate, Kate gets Neil to give up his stash of stolen artwork. Mentor is a failsafe to keep Peter honest.

However, I about threw the remote at the screen. It was just too fucking stupid to see Peter sitting there with that ring on, the one he was just show to have on holding Kate. Hair slicked back and looking dumb. Combine that with his paranoid wife who knows when he's doing/hiding something, and it makes no sense.

The whole brotherly vibe they had going on was nice, Peter turning Neil in so fast at the start of the episode was retarded, as was his sudden willingness to help him out.

Great writing, but this last episode ruined alot of good work, and just didn't make sense when compared to the character's they'd been building

Also, what the hell happened to the hot black girl from the pilot, they replaced her with the ugly FBI agent instead =/

That seems, to me, to be most likely what's happening.
    Thanks,Xiph0, for changing that.

Everyone watch the premiere last night in it's new time-slot?

I thought it was great, and am glad they already renewed it for a second season.

I watched it and I liked it but I have to be honest I was a touch disappointed with how it turned out.

Someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong but basically what I'm getting is that Peter apparently is a good guy and Kate is just a gold digger running a scam with Fowler? I mean they pulled it off well but it was just so....expected for Fowler to actually be the douche he seemed like that I was a bit disappointed.

Finally get to find out what's going on now. It seems rather sus to me really, but I guess you'll find out in later episodes wtf is going on. Free Fall was a faggot of a Cliffhanger, the conclusion of it, was slightly disappointing, but then again, that could be because I've watched all that's been released, and the last episode left me wanting more to watch.

Krogan: that's the impression I came off with, but I still think

Peter's got some skeletons, and Kate might have a 'change of heart' moment concerning her feelings for Neal.

You could easily be right but it was just dissapointing to me, I was really hoping Peter was a bad guy. Although the question does arise, Kate was being held hostage and no one knew where to find her, how exactly did he contact her? It seems fishy to me.

That's what's so strange - he set up the meeting seemingly without trying, while Neal is always multiple steps behind her....Yet the show has gone lengths to establish that Neal is significantly smarter than Peter.

Thats what Im wondering about, from what I gather, Fowler is holding Kate hostage as leverage, but he wants to get rid of Peter since hes getting close. However if thats all true then how is it Peter can simply get ahold of Kate whenever he pleases when Neal who is supposedly smarter than Peter can barely even figure out if shes still in the same damn state? Wouldn't she be all the proof he needed to put Fowler down?
