that is Harry/Daphne, with it being a flashback of a few moments of Harry's life before he "dies" at the end when he finishes Voldemort. It's good writing, but entirely predictable.

I can't believe this story got dropped the way it did and then Perfect Situations is his next work, ug. I was hoping for something of the similar quality level

 

You can't expect anything of Jeconais, his writing style is like a frigging roller coaster or a light switch... Whichever you prefer. ^^

 

Aye, it does seem to be that way doesn't it? I'm hoiping he does the sequel to this story, and gets it out quick, it was worth doing right, but with that crap ending it'd just turn into a 3 way romance story between H/P/G

 

Summary:
[spoiler:0397d99756] Harry's funeral, Daphne comes up, reveals she was his lover, tells bits of how Harry goes way OOC basically stalking her being all Slytherin and mysterious, she falls for him, they kill Voldemort through the power of "love" as Harry has something worth fighting for. Daphne brings him back to life just barely, and they polyjuice a DE to look like Harry just before he dies. Daphne shocks the funeral by calling out Snape and Dumbledore's issues (he's alive in this fic btw ) pissing a good deal of people off then she leaves. She goes and meets a greeneyed man with a jacket on, Harry. They leave, The end. Other then a few funny moments where she makes Ginny feel like shit, it really sucks[/spoiler:0397d99756]

 

oneshot or multi chapter? ... if its a oneshot i might poison my brain by reading it...

 

it seems to be a oneshot unless he's going to do adventures of harry/Daphne when everyone thinks Harry is dead.

 

I honestly didn't think it was terrible... But I was dissapointed because I felt it didn't live up to its potential.

 

read it.... while its a great concept, well written, and has loads of potential, its poorly executed, and yesh... too much power of love... its decent at best... i liked it on a purely professional level, but as a reader and fan of odd pairings, i didnt like it...

 

Agreed. I wonder if Jeconais has ever read Niccolo Machiavelli?

Machaivelli? I loved the Prince. It makes a good contrast to Utopia.

Though really if you think about it they are more similar than one would think at first glance.

Obviously still drastically differant... Yet in some aspects disturbingly similar.

 

Just finished reading it. I didn't really mind Ginny in this story. I think it's one of the best portrayals of her that I have read. Looking forward to the sequel.

 

er the portrayal of her in this story is just like all the others really, She wants Harry, except in this one Pansy buys her shit to make her back off of going after him.

The whole bit with her is just too unbelievable, a girl does NOT leave her man alone with another attractive girl who'd jump your guy the second he became available, even the younger ones here would know that.

Then Pansy letting Ginny rub alone Harry, the kiss/etc, it all adds up to a Ginny beat down that never happens, but instead she gets stuck in as a 3rd wheel

 

She wasn't the main focus in the story, so it was ok to me.

In defence to Pansy’s actions. She had been inside of Harry's head and seen how he felt about her so she shouldn't be that worried.

 

Perfect Situation sequel?

If anyone is interested in sequel(s) to Perfect Situations (Harry/Daphne) there are a slew of drabbles on Jecnais' Yahoo!Group. Not bad, bot not that great either.
