    I got Anne Rice.

I'm totally okay with this. Interview with a Vampire is a great book.

I uploaded four different pieces of my writing, two original fiction, a HP piece and a Pokémon piece.

I got three Agatha Christie and one Anne Rice.

Not sure how I feel about that.

I don't have any readily available samples, but I've plugged in sections from The Havoc Side of the Force, Blood Crest and A Discordant Note and got Agatha Christie for each which is funny as hell.

I also uploaded my HK-47 vs Dobby little drabble and got Anne Rice

I'm noticing a trend with the selections lol

Huh. I put my worm story, and my HP story in, which I felt would be quite different but I got Agatha Christie for both.

edit: by the beard of MonkeyEpoxy! It’s a fix!

I put in the opening paragraphs of Victoria Potter chapter 19 and also got Anne Rice.

I suspect this engine does not have too great a pool of reference materials to call upon.

Basically, it looks like if you put a lot of words in the box you get Agatha Christie. I tried all of my different stories, and if I enter <2000 words I have a chance of getting something that's not Agatha Christie (mostly Anne Rice, but I did see a couple of others with much shorter snippets), but much more than that and it's Agatha Christie all the way down.

As some fun I tried working out the cut-off for the chapter of SoA I've been working on. Apparently, at 2478 words, adding 'faintest' as the 2479th word flips the classifier from Anne Rice to Agatha Christie.

Also, if I take passages from the Lord of the Rings, it reckons they read like Arthur C Clarke.

At least it seems to be able to recognise short passages from Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone as by J.K.Rowling. Though, again, if I copy paste the last 50 pages of the book into the classifier, it spits out Agatha Christie again.

First I put in the first chapter of an odd Family/Horror thing I've been writing and got Stephen King

Then I put in a pirate story and got Daniel Defoe

I put my Western in and got Charles Dickens

and then HP AU fic and got Arthur Clarke,

And then I put in a short story and got Nabakov

Basically, it seems like the longer the story you put its harder to nail down a specific style unless you are specifically imitating them, so it sticks you with someone more generic ala Christie or Rice.

edit: Straight up copy pasta'd the Raven in and got Anne Rice.

Within 3000-4000 words im either: Arthur Clark, Daniel Defoe or Anne Rice. If I put in the entire chapter I'm Agatha Christie. This engine is many things but sophisticated or precise certainly not lol.

I'll take 'Throw machine learning at it and hope for the best' for 100, Alex.

On it's own, apparently this is like Tolkien.
On its own, this is Arthur C Clarke, but 1 and 2 together still equal Tolkien.
On its own, this paragraph reads as Ursula Le Guin, and the three paragraphs together become David Foster-Wallace.
Add one more paragraph (this time Tolkien again), and the passage reads like Arthur C Clarke.

I got J.K Rowling, could this be because I used Harry Potter words in my text?

Edit: Yeah, with three other texts which werent fanfics, I got David Foster Wallace, as far as I know I haven't read anything by him though.

Guys I swear my books don't have racial slurs as titles.
    upload_2020-6-29_8-17-18.png
That was from putting >80,000 words in from one of my more recent stories. Let's try just one chapter:
    upload_2020-6-29_8-17-18.png
Okay, let's try one paragraph from a different book:
    upload_2020-6-29_8-27-40.png
Interesting; let's try another section from another book.
