I also use new posts exclusively and have it as my bookmark and all that. The biggest problem I have with it is that I often check for posts on my phone, and the 'read first unread' arrow is really tricky to click on.

Yeah, I know that one. I'm just being nitpicky and wanting it for individual thread such as in the index page.

I usually check my user control panel for subscribed threads and then go through "New Posts".

I sometimes browse the library by subforum (especially For Review), but almost never any of the other subforums.

Oh - and sometimes I look at "Who's online" to look for hot topics.

Now that I know it exists, I feel the same way... didn't take long for it, either.

I pretty much use the New Posts feature exclusively.

Pretty much this. Oz' link helped me a lot, though. It cleared out all of the random stupid threads from New Posts.

I use the subscribed threads all the time, but not New Posts. I like to go through and check out all threads, then summarily skip to the end to mark it as read. I never click on 'mark entire subforum', because I am a slightly obsessive freak who needs to 'complete' DLP every time I go on here. I can't leave the site without 'finishing' every thread. Its kind of an addiction actually.

Srsly? You didn't know about it 'til now?

Ha. My goal now is to keep the results of clicking "New Posts" to just one page...

I thought I had posted it, but my way of ridding the New Posts results of "shit in which I have zero interest" is by middle-clicking on the last page of each of those threads, which opens them in a new tab. Then I close all those tabs and the next time I hit New Posts, DLP believes those threads to have been read, at least until someone posts a new reply there.

It isn't ideal, but it gets the job done, and helps me keep the unread threads count to one or two pages.

I click New Posts obsessively, possibly every few minutes when I'm online on DLP. >_>

I... Can't actually remember browsing the forums in any other way, ever.

    I answered "no".

I used to use New Posts. It's a very handy tool when you want to read most threads.

Now that I have less free time I prefer to just cherry pick certain subforums rather than DLP as a whole. This means that "New Posts" isn't important to me anymore. There is the downside that I occasionally miss some awesome threads, but it's no biggie.

I barely ever used it before Oz's link because I have a slight case of OCD in wanting all the lightning bolt icons to be dulled so that I know when new posts have occurred. I've switched over to using it now.

This thread shows pretty clearly that DLP is fertile ground for studying some OCD motherfuckers.

I'll hop on the bandwagon. I never knew that was there, so my vote above shows that, but now that I do know it's there I don't see much of a reason to not use it exclusively.
