Apart from Death Eaters and the Ministry throwing Dementor kisses around people in the HP canon tend to be remarkably restrained from killing, considering how they hand 11-year old kids the equivalent of loaded guns.

Then again without Poppy Pomfrey the average quidditch match would make Battle Royale look like a pillow fight when it comes to life-threatening injuries.

 

Harry gets hospitalised after three matches, and only one of them can really be said to be average (CoS, combination of Dobby and Lockhart, PoA due to the Dementors, and HBP due to McClaggan). School level quidditch isn't that bad, tbh.
