    DLP Category: General
    Pairing: Harry/Padma/Hermione

I searched DLP and couldn't find it. It's a Lupin finds Harry and takes him from from the Dursleys to be raised under an assumed name by a good muggle foster family kind of story. POV is Remus and Harry. A good re-do, well written, well researched author's notes. 56,944 words so far, at the begining of third year. I don't think it's really DLP's sort of stuff, but I like it.
Romance-wise, looks like it's going to be a threesome, the girls are not in a relationship with each other, no harem planned.

Same author as Out of the West.

Harry/Padma (even with Hermione involved)? Seratin should be here any minute now...

As for the fic, sounds odd. I'll give it a shot.

Read the first chapter, and while the writing could be cleaned up a bit it's surprisingly entertaining so far. I'll keep reading and rate later.

It's more OldMan!Dumbledore than anything, really.

Finished what's available, so far I'm very much enjoying the story. It's rather quirky but effectively written, the author doesn't get stuck on unnecessary details and isn't doing a canon!rehash, thankfully.

    Surprisingly pleasant read.

This is perhaps my favorite characterization yet of Remus and I'm enjoying the original twists to canon. However, I'm not too thrilled with Hermione and Padma more or less deciding that they'll seduce and share Harry, especially as 11/12 year old girls. It seems a tad crackish for this story.

3.5 would be ideal, but i"ll round up to 4/5.

Yeah, that was a bit bizarre, though to be fair young teen girls plot ways to get at boys all the time. Usually not together, though.

Ehh... it's pretty ok, IMO. Interesting style, some fun ideas, and the author notes are actually quite hilarious at times. The author should, however, not rely on Google for his translations.

There's something about the author's writing style that reminds me of Pratchett. I'm not sure if it's the irreverent humor or the silly footnotes, but whatever it is I love it. Easy 5/5 from me.

It's not terrible... if it's supposed to be tongue in cheek (which I think it is), it works reasonably well, although parts aren't that great. I really would put this in almost recommended, not the library. Remus isn't really anything close to correct, and Dumbledore is annoyingly manipulative.

    Maybe 2.5/5

Interested. Will open a tab for it and read it after work.

Edit: Read the first chapter and will now probably be late for work. Worth it, I think. 4.5/5.

I found this an amusing enough time-waster. It has a good bit of flaws (more telling than showing, lack of deeper characterization, and a Dumbledore who has well and truly lost the plot), but the overall tone of the story itself kept me reading.

I agree with you for the most part, but I liked aspects of Remus' character. His job and how he works for mental discipline and control of his wolfish side were handled pretty well. Beyond that, you pretty much nailed exactly what I thought of the fic.

As a tongue-in-cheek kind of story, it's reasonably entertaining, but it doesn't deserve to be in the library. The Recycling Bin would be a good place for it, imo. 3/5 from me.

This was...strange. When read as crack, the Padma/Hermione conspiracy is quite funny, but that is one of the few redeeming parts of it. Dumbledore is just awful.

    Recycling bin. 2/5

I have mixed feelings about this story. While the narrative is great, the Dumbledore bashing is facepalm worthy. The fast (but not rushed) flow of the story has kept me reading, that and the lack of a canon rehash, but it's not a masterpiece.

Other peeves: Harry being Mary-Sueish, Sirius being called Cesar in the narrative, and the Hermione/Padma 'jump on a dick' vibe.

Great to pass the time, it will be frustrating at times but not so much that you'll stop reading. 3.5/5.

    Wasn't awesome, but was entertaining.

Don't really know how I feel about Lupin taming his wolf. On the one hand, it sort of cheapens his character not to have to deal with turning into a bloodthirsty killer once a month. On the other hand, alcoholic!werewolf is sort of funny.

    4/5
