There's this wrongness that pervades these two posts, and I think it's because there's a disconnect, like Reg can't settle on exactly how much he should be believing Delphine's claim. The "if Miner's actually town here" is out place when Reg had just concluded that Miner is, in fact, very likely town. The "headdesk" to Newcomb doesn't jive with how I saw it, because, to me, Newcomb's post conclusively showed that Delphine was telling the truth and Delphine bringing up those points on her own would have been no more compelling. And that doesn't fit with Reg saying at the end that he already believed Delphine and Miner were both town, because then Newcomb's post should have shored up any doubts.

Fontisian for paranoia and being stubbornly wrong, Rubi mostly because of other people's reads, Kalas for being under the radar, and HF feels barely present even with more posts than me. And Cobalt hasn't done much other than catch up, interact superficially with a few folks, and sexually harass me. Lotta posts though so that's a thing.

On regfan/Newcomb:

I had a concern yesterday with #871. It does seem like reg is repeatedly hammering home the idea that Newcomb's thoughts match his exactly. Like, no two humans have exactly the same reactions to things all the time, every day - and regfan is a different player with different background, strengths and weaknesses, and many years more mafia experience.

Meanwhile Newcomb disagrees with reg a fair amount, doesn't seem like he cares what reg thinks of that disagreement (like on Vaimes), and voiced some small concerns about reg's alignment.

So yeah, that's worth worrying about.

Still catching up, but Delphine is town, so Miner is town (wtf man).

Kai's reaction to the whole thing is about as underwhelming as anything I've seen in my life.

 

If you're town, you may freely yell at me during postgame.

I wouldn't have been surprised given Kalas's proported view of the game state if he started trying to argue that I was fake, and so him just reminding me of his prior questions/being defensive Miner was unexpected.

@Fonti - We can table the Vira discussion until after she posts her reads list that she's working on at the moment if I'm still not feeling great about her then.

1) I found most of Miners interactions with Fonti from the post starting around his vote for her forced and ingenuine. The specific post in response towards Fontis vote on him however I didn't make a lot from, his response towards Newcomb on the other hand I didn't like at all.
2) I think I understand what you mean in the second paragraph better now; I'd initially read you stating that my reasoning on Miner being scum was NAI for Miner, but think you moreso mean that my reasons for scum reading him doesn't let you get a read on myself which makes plenty more sense.

I know, I'm still posting for town cred and post count though, as the thread slowly dies around me.

 

I don't hate this reasoning and I hate that.

Joking aside reg going back and forth there trying to figure out if he believes the claim is odd in that it literally makes to sense to fake in any situation. Also I don't see how someone other than delphine pointing out the breadcrumbs weakens the strength of them in anyway. I would think the opposite actually since it means they could be found in hindsight and you don't need to twist anything to make them work which makes it clear they were left purposely.

Does it make reg a witch though? Well maybe I could see it as him being frustrated on losing out on what could be seen as a mislynch and I also don't like how he uses it as an excuse to shade jan, it was looking like a lot of people were willing to just sit back and let the miner lynch happen I don't know why that would make jan look worse specifically and not anyone else. It may end up just being a drop in the bucket but I should ISO reg again.

I see people on a sliding scale of scumminess. There is no town, only not scum. If you are the least scummy, you might as well be town, congratulations! But for the rest of you…

Cobalt. I’ve discovered that when Cobalt plays, I like playing with him. Interesting! Let’s make sure it keeps happening. I like how he went after Jari. He made good points and didn’t let up. His reads seem to be generally the same as most people’s, which feels a bit weird. I guess I had built-up expectations that he’d crazier than this? He’s pretty not-scum though.

Newcomb. His catch-up posts are enjoyable and I have an idea on how he’s thinking. He posts regularly and not like how he was in WH7. He’s good.

KaiDASH. Lots of fluff, but whenever his rises from the fluffpile, I agree with a lot of what he says. His sudden pointed questions stir a memory of… a good player??? Feels towny, though he hasn’t done much. I can’t say what his reads are, and if you put a gun to my head, you might as well shoot me. I’d like to see more from him.

Vaimes. Hasn’t done anything I want to lynch him for, except for having below usual activity. Not making him high town because while he hasn’t done anything scummy, I don’t recall him doing much at all.

Fontisian. Is Font. She’s much more active than Owner’s Market, which I like, and she’s behaving playfully, which seems more town than scum, but that’s far as I get.

Rubicon. Seems okay. Also will re-read.

Atum. People say he’s automatic town because his scum game is really bad. That seems kind of insulting and I don’t know his meta. Post more.

The Waco Kid. More active than last time. Re-read.

His Fluffiness. When will this Rubicon read come back from the war? Needs more content. Miner was right in that it’s unfair that lurkers get to live forever. If you’re too busy, replace out.

Jan. He posts like Jan, he has reads like Jan, he makes good points like Jan… but his activity is low. I haven’t played with scum!Jan, and I don’t know if he’s just busy. I need to re-read him.

Regfan. He had a hiccup at the start, but I need to re-read.

Jarizok. There’s a point where someone’s behavior is so scummy it goes right back into towniness. I don’t see this here, but I’ll reread. I nearly lynched town!Jari last game for bad reasons in hindsight, and I don’t want that to happen again.

Fable. I was ready to bury Fable, then two posts after my vote he had his breakdown and I backed off out of politeness. Other people became scummier than him so I never put my vote back on. I don’t know his meta, I only know he’s been overly defensive. My views haven’t changed much but I’ll give him more consideration toMorrow.

Koalas. Town Kalas looks a lot like scum Kalas: iffy activity and tone. Buuuut, Kalas didn’t use his vote until late into the Day. I looked at how he voted last game (as town), and he had a habit of parking his vote early in the day and then rarely moving it. It’s weird he’s barely bothered with his vote at all. Plus, rambling posts are a scumtell I stand by.

Owner. Scum.

Ignoring Delphine/Miner because they’re town.

I know I skipped like four people but my brain is dripping from my ears and I’m re-reading everyone during N1. I’ve skimmed way too many conversations. I'll have a real, detailed readslist up on my first post of D2. Look forward to it.
