Mal the Gastrodon slithered along the river.

He was a pink Gastrodon because pink is cool, and despite what everyone might assume by the name, he was a slug, not a dinosaur. A very specially-defensive slug. In fact, he was once a star in the competitive circuit, absorbing water attacks and sponging everything else.

But those days were long behind him.

Mal rested in the shadow of a tree and washed away the slime trail behind him with Scald because that was just who he was. Crimson bloomed on the horizon, pulling the night across the sky like a curtain.

“A wonderful end to a wonderful Day,” Mal said, nodding.

But what Mal didn’t know that high above his head in the tree was a bucket of salt teetering on a branch. It was put there by the Great Mod Gogoat (whose name is too holy to speak) in hopes people would forget about it. The salt was the culmination of player rage and tears from every mafia game on DLP, and while the bucket looked like a normal-sized bucket, it actually contained a pocket dimension as large as the Atlantic Ocean. Only the Mods were strong enough to move it.

And gravity.

Mal watched the sunset.

The bucket teetered.

Mal said, “Oh, I hope nothing happens to me toDay!”

An ocean’s worth of full of salt shifted slightly, millions of grains falling into one direction, and that direction was down.

The branch creaked.

Mal looked up.

Hours later, the Vulpix from Obs trotted down the river’s edge, holding a flashlight in its mouth even though it was a fire-type. The Vulpix loved going out for night-time jogs, and tonight was no exception.

Then it stepped in something wet and foaming, and it squished between its toes. The Vulpix scraped it across the rock and backed away, but its nose twitched.

It shone the flashlight down.

The Vulpix screamed.



Mal was lynched!
