Hello friends, soon-to-be-friends and soon-to-be-frenemies.

I am Silvercrys, the player formerly known as jwlk.

I've been playing mafia-type games for just about a year and a half. I primarily play on MTGS, but I've played one longish game and around a dozen "turbos" on MafiaUniverse. This is my first Witch Hunt but I spectated WH8.

I have a lot of past experience with tom (rip in pepperoni) and some with Vaimes. I've played extremely short phase games with dyachei and Fable and one long phase game with Fable and Citrus (sorry again Citrus).

I have meta for town games available on request but I've never been scum so you're out of luck there.

Actual game-related things: I've read up to around post #1100 and I read the hundredish posts before the lynch in real time. I have ~some things~ to say but I want to get a bit of a pulse on the thread and finish my catchup before I start with reads lists and such.

First of all, can I get a show of hands from people who actually think the tom lynch hit a witch? It seemed as if at least some of the players on the wagon didn't really think he was one. Thanks.
Fable: this is going to sound silly, but could you define "confirmation bias" for me in your own words?
Jarizok: do you recall what your Beru read was around post #1000 before you two got into it? Might be hard since, you know, emotions etcetera, but try for me please.

Also, can someone tell me what AtE is? It's not standard terminology where I'm from.

 

AKA if toms town Vaimes gets to enjoy some more hard-1800's westward expansion-esque tunneling from you're truly.

Also this fails to address the whole "reading someone as a town role, then lynching them" thing?

Also now I think of it we're not supposed to be calling out Agent reads because it helps the elders avoid picking them???

Would rather you just cut to the chase and ask me what you really wanna ask.

 

In general. CFD's almost never work out and I was annoyed because I had to do it on shitty international data on a phone.

As for beru, it was a thought, but not enough that I don't want I lynch there. More info to be gained from that lynch rather than tom.

 

Well, I won't deny it.

 

I mean...I guess I can see that, but then why voice the thought at all? As far as I can tell all that does is:
- DECREASE the chances Beru gets lynched instead of tom
- Give the elders something to look at if Beru is in the LW/Agent pool

Especially near end of day where your concern is generally consolidating on your lynch of choice, it just doesn't make a lot of sense. (This is why I wanted to know specifically what your thought process was when posting it)

 

I'd much rather you answered the question first since it doesn't really lead to another question. I'll tell you why after, pinky promise.

tom was an Elder Witch.

Since the Little Witches don't know his role, I don't think I should reveal that information - unless someone has a good reason for me to do so.

I feel better about both Citrus and beru not being elder witches based on the way the wagons went. And Vaimes, because would a bus like that ever make sense for him? Fable needs some attention.
