Lyrium: The priest is 100% town and the inquisitor has a 69% chance of being town. Priest checks also happen to be far more valuable than inquisitor checks. Therefore, it's better to waste a fairly useless Inquisitor check and hope that at least one of the jester and inquisitor are town (90.5% chance), than it is to waste a Priest check.

 

The IRC witch hunt game I played, Inquisitor was scum. It also makes sense in terms of balance. Town has one person who checks alignment, having two would mean that mod has to give witches some sort of "balancing" powers. I imagine that witches would want\need some sort of role checker as they holy hunt.

Klackerz, opinions on the GD claiming or anything else?

Fontisian\Bill on the scum trading roles. Wouldn't having less info about the GD for example while they are pre-game chatting be beneficial to town?

I'm also interested in who gave Titus the bomb and why. I have my suspicions based.

Lyrium, every role except for priest and acolyte is randomly distributed between town and the witches. Also, inquisitor doesn't check alignment.

I don't see why a gravedigger claim would effect scum trading roles unless one of them was the gravedigger.

Unfortunately I'm not a witch. I still don't comprehend the GD claim, and using statistics like 4/13, apprentice shenanigans, and meta from another site isn't all that convincing. So explain it to me in a way I can see more pros than cons for town.

We get info that we can hold someone accountable for. It makes it harder for scum to perform fake calim shenanigans. How about that?

The Gravedigger was shot night 2 in 9-2 on fantasystrike. It didn't hurt gameplay, beyond us believing one lynched guy was scum more strongly than we should have (to be fair, he was doing an incredible imitation).
