Ok just returned from a little break from this thread.

Will start with saying fluff i do not know how many witchhunt game you have played so far, but lynching the possible (in my eyes likely) witch luckylee today is one of the worst ideas.

If he is town and makes a blind shot he might shoot someone important on accident, because he does not read him well (and he does not seem too much about this game so far)
If he is mafia it gives mafia two two chances to hit the priest, d1 & n1.

Waiting for the priest to out and die and kill him after that is always the better play.

Saving him for the last lynch of the game is normally the best play, witches can kill him before if he decides to play towny or actually is town.

The one downside of this setup is that we only know that we are down to one witch, when last stand triggers. (The last witch has 2 nightkills). which is the point where we can kill the dob without risking too much. Which is around final 6/7 if we get all of the witches early on and do not get any angelsaves or wasted witch kp on gamber/survivalist fanatic.

There is exactly one world where that play has a risk of losing that is if we are down to 3-2 in final 5 and kill the 2nd to last witch there.
The last witch gets 2 nightkp and can force a draw if the angels do not get a save (that is what the doublesave is normally for).
If the witch manages to do that then he/she wins and we cannot make the dob dies last play.
On the other hand the dob shoots in final 3 has the big upside that in a world where where 1 out of 3 is scum killing two people gives town damn good odds if we ever get that far.
(Witchhunt is kinda constructed to go to final 3-5 unless games are really onesided for some reason)

At least i don't think there is another world where we lose to it, if he is scum.
Well if we do not kill his partners we lose as well, but that is why we are voting on you at the moment.

I think it is kinda fun to see that several people in a row shared that read now. (Menace, Fluff & Tempusfugit being the last 3)

Can you explain those read in your own words?

Sharing reads is fine, but it is better if you give an opinion behind the read, otherwise it may looked sheeped.

Since you read other people scummy for inactivity without being willing to classify them as scum, that cannot be your reason for disliking kalas.



Gonna go read the last two pages now and see if there is anything to talk about.

Kalas due to his argument with Citrus on whom I had a soft town read on at the time.
He clearly stated that Citrus was deploying clear Scum tactics, it didn't feel like that to me and it didn't feel like that to other players I have town read on. Since he hasn't posted that much since that discussion I have him as an scum read for the time being.

You on the other hand, all that talk about your scum potential rubbed me the wrong way, and after that all your posts sharing insight made me think that you were just maybe actually using that tactic

I have to say though the you and Kalas don't seem to be aligned, so it's probably one or the other in my opinion.

 

I think you, Moridin, Citrus, Von, Jan, Newcomb, Tempus Fugit and Menace are all reasonably towny.

Menace, can you give your thoughts on fontisian? I notice you haven't talked about her in your long reads posts.

 

Like I said, she's a null read for me. I already mentioned Jan's fixation on her meta, but all I've seen of her thus far is a few mechanics-based proposals and a general abrasiveness towards indecisive players. She's got half the playerbase as town reads already, which I assume means she has some confidence in her play. Could just mean she knows who all the townies are, tho. No hard opinion yet.

 

Citrus are you drunk? Having someone replace in for someone who possibly claimed?
