To be completely honest, I think my slot is effectively ruined for the duration of this game.

Regardless of Tempus' alignment, you will never believe what he has to say about me, because he is a popular candidate for scum. And if people aren't townreading me based on my play and behavior, then there is essentially nothing left for me to say, even though I know giving up is never a good option.

So if anyone wants to try and call my decreased activity a scumclaim or whatever, I will happily drag your face across the pavement.

Project: determine Moridin's alignment

Moridin is right in the midrange of posters this game. There have been a few times when my overall impression has been "this person has a habit of wolfy pop-ins." There have been other times when I've read, or re-read something Moridin's written and been like, "yeah, town."

Here are some things Moridin's said that have stuck out to me:

First really meaningful comment. Citrus had a great comment on why this looked towny for Moridin, and it looks even more so now that we know Snowvon is scum.

I really don't see Moridin going after a partner like that on page ~5 of D1. Especially grilling him on his Waco read - like... that's shining an awful big spotlight on your buddy, here.

Moridin doubles down on this read here. I won't quote the whole post because it itself is responding to quotes, and the context matters. But certain lines:

... I think are far more likely to come from town than scum. I get the strong sense from these posts that Moridin is genuinely trying to determine Snowvon's alignment.

Furthermore, there's just a... lack of guile to these posts, I guess. An openness to them.

The third salvo against Snowvon, here. This one I had more mixed feelings about. I think this line:

... is a bit scummy. Characterizing Snowvon as "backtracking" there is not consistent with my interpretation of events. I also think the "oh that was just reaction-testing" defense is a bit eh, and a tad more likely to come from scum.

Although, Moridin's talking about Fluff here, coming to his defense (or at least using Snow's read on Fluff to prod Snow more), and Fluff is confirmed town, sooooo... I guess I could see this as trying to look towny by defending someone you know is town? Eh. Bit of a stretch.

This is in response to me asking Moridin about a Citrus post. I mean, Moridin's wrong here, but I can practically feel him working it out as he writes. This analysis feels suitably paranoid, working it through, game-solving, all that town stuff. If he'd cut off that last sentence and left it at "could be either one", that would be a red flag, but notice how Moridin actually took a stance here! Citrus as a tentative scumread is just... hard to buy early in D1 in a scum!Moridin/town!Citrus world, considering how widely townread Citrus was.

This is from a big post after a re-read. I had similar thoughts about Waco at the time, which I brought up - more so that Waco was trying to be everyone's friend and injecting a lot of "you may have a point" language. But, the angle of attack here is similar. Another point for town!Moridin.

This is one of those posts I got a "wofly pop-in" vibe from. That being said, in retrospect, I feel like if Moridin was scum with Atum he wouldn't have been so wishy-washy about the wagon. He'd have either bowed to the inevitable and tried to grab some towncred, or just hard-defended Atum a la Refuge in Audacity. Something. Anything other than this kind of "detached befuddlement."

Pushing the daychat thing a little. Felt awkward on first read, not so much now. Again, that "I might hammer Atum or whatever" just feels... really really unlikely to come from a partner. It's so... there's just a lack of intent, lack of driving for a specific outcome. Scum would be driving some agenda, I think.

Also bonus points for an accurate "Lungs wtf" moment.

This is a long post interacting with Koalas. I think of particular note is how he's attempting to untangle the Tempus/Citrus/me interaction where I misread one of Tempus's posts. Scum could try to grab a little goodwill by being helpful, but frankly it's a fair amount of work for little gain, and the way more likely situation is that this is town trying to make the game more clear.

This, I would normally jump all over because it reads like "token pressure" - complaining without really advancing the gamestate yourself - however, Moridin immediately follows with interactions like these:

That is very very very towny - trying to move the game forward on D2 where nothing is happening but an inevitable Atum lynch.

FFS, he even follows with this:

I mean... it's possible that tone is faked, but come on now.

Conclusion: Moridin is town

 

Why wouldn't they protect me? "Luckylee is the towniest town to ever town" - Citrus 2015.

 

After this game we should probably stop asking Angels to do things for us since it failed so spectacularly here.

Like remember after Narutomafia when people saw that MathBlade was town after all? I think this surpasses it.
