Eh. It's easier for me because I tend to scumhunt out of context looking for mindset tells and such.
This is why I don't understand setups or follow night actions. It doesn't really effect me.

 

Shit, I hate mobile posting. I was trying to space the post and accidentally posted 671. This'll never automerge, but yeah. Miner gets honorable mention for town circle because I think he's town, but that's more a result of a gut call I'm making based on something I'm seeing in a few posts rather than something I can put a finger on. Also, I kinda respect the opinions of the town circle more so yeah (again, no offense. They have more experience than you miner).

At the other end of the spectrum, I don't like owner's play at all, but can accept that's not happening today.

So lets look at wagons that are happening:
I don't think miner is scum, but as non-participatory as he's been with his neck on the chopping block I guess I'm not vehemently opposed to lynching him in a vacuum?

But.

Slippery is a much better lynch imo iff (yeah, that's right, I'm using math proof abbreviations on you guys) he has experience. Other people have said this already, but his nursing Newcomb makes literally no sense. He pushed against Newcomb earlier, has never indicated a townread on him, and then apropos almost nothing nurses him? And its not as though he was extremely towny up until that point - he hasn't really done /anything/ town all game. So yeah, if he's played enough (and Snow indicated he has) for "oh shit I panicked" to not be an excuse, then this can't really be a town play. Because he's actively laying a foundation to retract or call it a mistake /while/ he's giving a life to Newcomb. It's exactly the same thing that pinged me about owner - that level of self awareness isn't towny. His arguments only make sense from the perspective of him having to use the shot at that exact moment, which clearly isn't the case. I just... can't see it.

Over half of my town circle agrees with me (thank god finally).

The real question is what this says about Newcomb?

The only 2 scenarios I can see are these - (1) scum!Slippery overestimated how townread town!Newcomb is to the point he just assumed that nursing him was such a protown move that even though it was against his win condition it would make him a townread by extension. This world seems unlikely but the other is (2) scum!Slippery and scum!Newcomb are engaged in some sort of poorly executed gambit, which is also a bit out there for me just because I don't think I'm that wrong about D1 (ie I'm feeling good about the fact that Vira was scum, and scum!Vira is essentially incompatible with scum!Newcomb). I just... ehh? Whatever. We can deal with Newcomb tomorrow.

Just lynch Slippery while we still have time to do this.

On one hand it would have been beneficial to maybe discuss it beforehand, but then you might have to live up to protecting someone that the group says that you don't really understand the read or what not. (But maybe that's an extreme case.)

I guess what I'm saying is what is done is done. We argue back and forth what could have been better. But I don't know if it serves a purpose anymore.

Well, one could possibly figure out Slippery's alignment from the motivations he presented.

I think my gut is calling you town pretty consistently, but I don't have tangible reasons of proof or logic to explain this.
