On a theoretical level, I'm against Cobalt's plan. I think the downside of basically taking Angels out of the game doesn't outweigh the meager information we'd get out of it. If the Hunter is actually a witch /and/ manasi isn't a defensive role, it wins us the game, but in that scenario the witch!Hunter actually does just dome manasi last night. Or they fully out and shoot someone else. Shooting fonti + holstering their kill + using an IK or failed role kill on manasi gets them nothing. Nothing.

99% of the time here, manasi's a defensive role and the Hunter actually did shoot her last night.

On a practical level, nothing we do matters anymore so go for it.

A concrete assignment of Manasi's role (Fanatic, Gambler, Survivalist claims) allows us to potentially rule out worlds in which Tom is one of those roles.

It's not a 100% certainty thing, but in the scenario where we end up in a concrete world from 1.a.i. to 2.c.ii. we can say that Umami is most likely telling us the truth and if he is then he's most likely a villager.

Some of the 3-4 worlds look similar to the 1-2 worlds but the end results are different. It's about getting to that last tier that finalizes which world we're in.

Plus, we are at a nearly unprecedented advantage in that we definitely know the identities of 3 out of 4 witches with 12 people still alive.

Even on the extremely unlikely chance that Umami is a witch, we have the wiggle room to figure that out, even with last stand taking out 2 people per night with no angel protects due to role kills.

Also, if we don't mass claim and only claim those three roles, there are still some roles that are protectable, though those people are in the PoE and probably not potential nightkills.

 

We already know that.

90% confidence doesn't get us anything. For a plan like you're outlining to be good, you need to have 100% mechanical locks at the end of the chain. WH is kind of designed so that those plans aren't really possible. There's almost always some ambiguity.

There are zero worlds where Umami gives us tom's alignment correctly but his role incorrectly.
