I'm working under the assumption that there is scum or junior scum on the Court, because there's too high a chance for us to risk thinking otherwise. If Fen was on the Court and the scum killed him for it then we all but confirm the presence of an Elder Witch, in which case the townies in Court have the chance to get rid of them via us, or at least give us information to connect the dots between them and other scum.

There are more roles that need information than those that generate them. If we want town to work at its best, sharing information is the way to go. Hell, even if we're just sending the rep to the chopping block, it at least gives us an idea of how many scum could be on the Court, and our reads on the Court members (who we don't know the identity of) could help pigeon-hole their efforts to sway the Court.

As well as that, having information on possible scum given to us by the Court could help roles like the Judge and Vigilante pick better targets, assuming they're not scum.

In my opinion sharing information is the best way to help the town, because it helps us pinpoint scum easier and helps info-roles/killer town roles make more informed decisions.

I'm gonna echo what Kalas said earlier

At the moment the greatest weapon we have is the court's NK. By revealing info from the court it will reduce the amount of times that weapon can be used, which is bad for town. Also many of the roles you say need information don't come into effect until later in the game, e.g. Wizard, hunter, thief, vigilante./ None of these roles are active now.

Better picks from info-roles earlier in the game directly affect how useful they are later in the game, though I'll give you the Vigilante.

Still, the major flaw in that argument is that there is a high chance of scum being in the Court. There are thirty players. 9 of which are scum or future scum. That's a nearly 1/3 chance of there being scum in the Court. If they've taken up the strategy of killing off Court members until they can control it (or outright disband it), and are on the Court, there's no point in hiding the information the Court can gather from the rest of us.

That's 9 people we have to kill to win this game, so we have to be absolutely sure that our lynches and Court kills are good ones.

We need the Court to work with town, not as its own separate faction. You can't win without us and we would win easier with you guys helping us out, rather than hindering our most powerful roles from doing their jobs.

So does anyone want to find out what is up with Platypus_Assassin? He posted once yesterday and with the way this is going will probably post once today if he pops up. He is completely not participating and gets away with it, with only some rare exception when somebody notices it.

If he doesn't post today, then I guess he will be replaced?

So yeah, once more votes started piling up StrikerLee started posting. I wouldn't call his arguments really convincing, more like wth. So I am not convinced that he didn't try to take the fools way out. As in posting stupidly so that his previous posts would be taken in the same light.

About the ongoing discussion. I agree the more information we get the better, but you need to remember if court does decide to give some info away, then it won't be only the rest of town who will get it , it would be the scum too. There is a high chance that scum is in court, but chances are that not both scums are in it. So if you give information to town thinking that scum already know it, that may not be the case. It also really depends on the roles that Court players have.

Does simple logic not exist in this game? If scum are already on the Court, they already know everything the Court learns. So literally, the only people who don't know what's going on are the non-Court town players. In what world is this a good thing?

---------- Post automerged at 08:14 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:07 PM ----------

But yeah, I'll bring this back to point. I don't think Mishie is scum, mostly because his idea has definite merit for town and the bandwagon that formed against him because it came out a bit wrong. I reckon the scum hijacked it once they saw a chance to limit town info gathering and get an innocent person lynched. I encourage people to look elsewhere for their lynch target.

That said, I would like Mishie to actually join in this conversation at some point, and for the people leading his bandwagon to bring their own arguments to the fore.

Yeah, but there are 2 scum teams who do not communicate privately with each other. What one knows does not mean the other knows. No?

Good point, though I think the benefits outweigh the costs at this point. It's down to game theory now.

If coven are on the court, there are no benefits to withholding evidence.

If the coven is not on the court, there is a big disadvantage to setting out a representative, but also an advantage in having extra information given to town folks (mostly this would be who the Court killed during the night, and other pertinent information such as whether a Court info role has checked a person and found them to be a witch, to give a basic example).

If coven are on the court as well as junior witches, there's even less point in hiding information.

If coven aren't on the court, but a (or more) junior witch is on, we're giving scum targets to aim for but still giving info to town players.

Of course there are a couple of roles that can benefit from being targets for nightkills, and if they're on the Court we can use that to our advantage.

If we follow game theory then we should plan for the worst possible scenario, rather than for the best, so a Court Representative is a good idea.

Well I agree with Guljons in the sense that any information given from court would be given to everyone which could possibly hurt town more then help, and the other way around as well. It all depends on what information is being shared and how it is shared.

It could be a good idea, yes, but it depends on a lot of factors. We don't know how this game is going to play out. We don't know how much info we're going to get over the next few days.

A court rep could come forward mid to late game depending on then state of affairs in town. Doing it while we still have very little info is retarded and dangerous.

I do more or less agree that Mishie's initial post about Court sharing information could be taken in the light that Aekiel is saying it could be -- I.e. That Mishie just suggested something that he saw as being possibly helpful to town, and things ran away from him.

My vote is still with Mishie for the moment though, but I'd be more than happy to jump ship and vote for someone else if a better target comes along. Need a bit more convincing though.

This is gonna be my lost post for today as I will be going to sleep now and tomorrow is gonna be a very hectic day filled with classes and parties.

Getting a court rep today will not do us any good since we already know that Fen was killed by the scum . Wait for the start of day 3 and depending on the situation at hand we can decide then.

Also, I really don't like any of the current lynch target. But StrikerLee1 seems more likely to be a scum than Mishie.

    Lynch Vote: StrikerLee1.

Also, Is Platypus going to be replaced?

People even talking about the court are stalling the discussion on possible scum, and are very likely scum themselves, at this point. They didn't kill anyone last night, there's no possible confusion, and no benefit for them to come forwards.

Mishie, Ashaya, StrikerLee and Klackerz are the 4 possibilities for a lynch. We have 15 hours, and we need 15 votes to lynch. Relying on a town judge is a horrible idea, because it both 'can' be scum, and the town judge isn't necessarily a positive compared to a lynch, either.

I'm pretty okay with any of the four names dying, I think. Are they all scum? Eh, no, probably not. I think StrikerLee is the least likely to be scum of that bunch, but he's still derped hard enough to justify killing him when there's not an overwhelming target.

I never was completely sold on Mishie being scum. I just voted him and pressed aggressively to see how he'd react, and who would pile on afterwards for the easy target. It wasn't entirely as informative as I'd hoped, but ah well.

That leaves Ashaya and Klackerz as my two favorite targets. Unfortunately, they are also the two of the grouping that have the least votes. So, there's that. I don't really see a lynch train on Ashaya happening this early, no matter how unhelpful she's been, because white knighting faggotry, and only 15 hours to go.

So... that leaves me with Klackerz as my preferred option. He was yesterday, too, for that matter. I won't be around much for next... 5-6 hours, but I'll try to be around near deadline to herd cats in a direction that ends with a lynch, I suppose.

    But, for now, at least:

    Rescind Vote
    Lynch: Klackerz

Same goes for LochNess. He said (on Friday) that he wouldn't have computer access until Sunday, and we haven't heard from him since. Lutris hasn't been heard from since Saturday, though he was more active before he disappeared.

The two of them (and Platypus_Assassin) need to get in here and start posting so we can get reads on them. At this point, not posting is a pretty scummy move.

Possibly. My vote's still on him because i haven't seen a better target yet today, though I may switch it to a lurker to see if I can get them to post.

I've already posted some of my thoughts on electing a Court rep (333), but to expand:

This early in the game, there are far too many unknowns for the rep to do much good. We don't know if the Court is infiltrated or not, and no one has completely solid reads on anyone. Knowing who the court targeted is only useful if both targets were of ambiguous scumminess or if the actual kills were the opposite of appearance - i.e. the Court killed someone who was looking townish or they didn't kill the scummy target - so there's not a huge advantage to be gained from knowing the targets.

I favor having the court wait a few days to reveal its targets, unless one of the situations I mentioned above arises.

If it becomes obvious that the court is infiltrated, then the whole court could reveal to allow the town to help pick out the scum among them, but this should be saved for extreme emergencies.

Congratulations on very successfully avoiding the question Klackerz. You seem to have an amazing talent of disappearing when it seems convenient for you.

I agree with Eidolonic in that StrikerLee seems to just be a bit of an idiot,I put a lynch vote on him to get him talking, and he has done that, even if not very successfully. I'm undecided about mishie, he came up with a very bad idea but it does seem to have been blown slightly out of proportion. Ashaya just seems determined to troll the life out of this game.

I thought klackerz was a better choice than Geabe to kill yesterday, and I still do, so

    Rescind Vote StrikerLee

    Lynch Vote klackerz

    Alright, fair enough. Let's give Mishie a brief reprieve -- though this doesn't mean I've decided he's town (b/c I haven't).

    Rescind Vote
    Lynch: Klackerz

I liked Klackerz fairly well for a target on Day 1 anyway (I think I said this at some point), though didn't get around to voting for him. He hasn't convinced me otherwise.

I can live with that, but we also have to consider the scum's strategy. If Fen was on the Court there's an extremely high chance there is an (are) Elder Witch(es) in the Court. Since nobody in the court is coming forward, I suppose we'll just have to wait for it.

I can live with letting mishie breathe for a day I suppose. I still think he's scum but if the town lynch is heading in another direction then I'll toe the line. Not yet though.

Lutris: Care to come out of hiding and post? I notified you about the thread last night and you said, "Ah fuck, I forgot about that."

I went to bed soon after and was surprised that when I woke up you still hadn't replied.

ffs,When the fuck did I disappear? Just because I don't post a huge amount like Kai or Eidolonic doesn't mean I am lurking.

I thought I replied to Ollie about bob99, but I guess I forgot when I saw StrikerLee's post.

About bob99, He seems towny enough, but one can never know.

@Gambit: Why did you post so particularly about bob99?

Also think about this, If I was a scum, do you really think I would forget or deliberately avoid(as some people will be thinking) answering such a easy question?

It's not the only question you've avoided. It is a fact that as soon as it looked like you weren't going to get wagoned, you stopped talking pretty much at all. Even if it's coincidental, you have to admit that looks horribly bad for you.

I parked my vote on Striker to get him to talk. He did. He didn't exactly amaze me, but honestly I'd rather go after Klackerz at this point.

I will be leaving soon, and I'm not sure if I'll be back on the computer before deadline. If I have a chance to check in, I will, but for now:

    Unlynch: StrikerLee
    Lynch: Klackerz
