Fine then I'm sorry about the assumption I made. But how can a Time-Turner go forward if the future still hasn't happened. My theory is that the only reason a Time-Turner works is because it has events that it can go to. The future hasn't happened so it has nothing to go forward too.

    That probably sounds wrong but...meh.

Think of it this way: we are in the past of another future.

If, in thirty minutes i still exist, that means that i am currently in the past of the future 'me'. If i can travel to the past me, then why shouldn't he be able to come to the future me?

That makes sense. Then i guess Snape did go to the future and read Severitus fic #3156259 where he raped/affair/hid the marriage with Lily.

Either way I still feel sorry for him.

I would explain it more along the lines of:

A time turner basically "rips" (can't think of a better word) out of the current time you're in, as shown by Harry/Hermione disappearing in PoA. If you went forward in time it would simply mean that time would progress as it would naturally if you had just disappeared. IE People freaking out because the BWL has suddenly abandoned the wizarding world with no trace of him to be found.

See time just shouldnt be messed with.
raises to many questions that cant be totally answered.
i still dont understand why a smart ass 3rd year can get a device that can easily bring down the wizarding world if one so wished it.
why if draco malfoy wanted to steal whatever is in herman's pocket then wham bam draco becomes king of wizarding world with a few trips back in time even if he can only go back by like 20 minutes intervals he can manipulate events that are occuring or that have recently occured in his favor.

He actually would've most likely gone to Halloween 1981 and killed Harry, before Voldemort showed up then kill him and THEN take over. Stupid ponce DAMN YOU MALFOY.

The TT just brings up way too many questions that will never be answered:

If a 3rd year can get one and Voldemort has spies in the DoM, why not possess one of his followers Quirrel-style and have another one go back in time to warn him before he attacks Baby Harry?

In PS why not use the time turner to go back in time to before the stone was removed?

In CoS why not have somebody smuggle one into the CoS to give to the young Riddle?

In PoA why can't Hermione be seen by herself, when she already knows about the Time Turner?

In GoF why not use it to prevent LV from performing the ritual, or at the very least from killing Cedric?

Same thing in OoTP, why not save Sirius with it or just warn Harry that it's a trap.

If Snape really was a good guy in HBP, why doesn't DD go back to tell Snape about what Narcissa will have him swear an oath to, and then have Snape not perform the oath (agree with Bella that he shouldn't be involved).

Or if he's really evil, why doesn't MM use one to prevent Draco's Death Eaters from entering Hogwarts and thus save Dumbledore?

I think the idea of the Time Turner is that its a very very restricted and very rare item. I mean come on you would be messing with time here so its not something you can make or buy in a little corner store. On top of that I think theres only a few, about 6 or 7, time turners in the world.
