Yeah. Interesting but I feel like it is on the back of one of the soundbites the riot announcers were throwing out all game "to be good you have to play against good teams" and TSM is definitely the best NA, so they struggled to improve.

I don't know if I believe that though, since they played M5 or so we are told, and probably some others also. I'm not sure if playing against more NA teams will help them with their weak matchups against Asian/Eu teams. I guess we will have to see...

 

This is just stupid. CLG.EU surprised me by actually matching WE pace for pace, their legendary late game showing up again and again, and the best of three has just become a best of five. Two games were cancelled because of crashes. Second one literally seconds before CLG finished the game. GG Riot.

I have to say though, that second cancelled game was hilarious. Just ... hilarious.

 

Tought its a fucking great series. I love it.

"GG Riot" -CLG.EU

 

Got to love the drama that always happens around these big eSports tournaments. Reginald announcing he's retiring from TSM, Azubu Frost being accused of cheating by looking at the maps behind the players and the best of three series between World Elite and CLG.EU turning into an eight hour ordeal because Riot didn't think that maybe their tournament client should operate via LAN.

CLG.EU could rightly feel screwed out of a victory here with how close they were to winning, though the same could be said of the massive lead World Elite had before the first remake. Moscow 5, Taipei Assassins and Azubu Frost have to be just as pissed, their preparation time for the finals next weekend just got cut in half.

 

We knew about that for a long time. It was always known that Reginald was having a hard time finding time to play on top of running the solomid website. Do we know who is replacing him yet?

 

Some people are saying that Xpecial will go back to playing mid and they'll pick up a new support instead. But nothing has been announced yet.

 

What I'm hearing is NhatNguyen in as support and Xpecial moving to mid. But yeah, that's all speculation.

 

World Elite is being accused of cheating by looking at the minimap too. It's pretty damning evidence.

CLG.EU forced to remake and replay a game they would have won in 20 seconds.

-Headshake- Generally I support and defend Riot, but this whole clusterfuck has realllllllllly lowered my opinions of them.

 

There's also really strong evidence of Azubu Frost mini-map cheating as well.

Very blurry image of someone turned around, but there is a clear ping on the minimap by red team somewhere where no ping should have been, clearly showing where TSM actually was at the time.

 

There's been more than that for AZF.

Now this is a bit of student-psychology. But there was a well thought out post by a professor who explains that cheating students will almost invariably look at who/what might catch them cheating soon after they cheat. Sort of like criminals returning to the scene of the crime.

There's also that after that ping no-one should have been pinging at, Jayce/Shy goes LvL 1 Q completely randomly and checks a bush with it that was exactly where Dyrus/Darius was.

For those of you who don't play Jayce, let me tell you, Level 1 Q NEVER happens. It's 1000% less safe, with less utility, than level 1 E. The only way I might EVER see it happening is if you're attempting to go AD-Carry Jayce on bot lane. And even then I honestly don't think it's a better choice at level 1.

I always go level 1 Q for specifically brush checking. Reason being that in pub games I always run mid to make sure they can't sneak into the brush to run into blue buff for invade. The one time I was late and facechecked it, ran into 5 people and got FBd.

It's also a much more aggressive way to play top, the Q outdamages E because To the Skies>Gate for damage, easily. So if I fight level 1, Q always wins pretty much any trade vs any character. Also, for first bloods, while gating your team might be more useful, I find the Q gets the kill easier because in a pub game, they will just flash if they expect you or die if they don't. It's not terrible for escaping either. If the jungle comes from behind, I Q to him then flash past him if necessary, and otherwise you can do some brush jukes, using Q to hit them as they enter, slowing them, and running past them. It works pretty much just as well as gate.

Now that's not to say I'd do the same in Tournament play, just that it's not something that never happens.

Wouldn't be surprised if Riot gave away a lot of extra free stuff for people who stayed 8 hours to get cancelled. Another reddit post said that Riot bought out a ton of pizza places to feed the crowd after the announcement was made at the end of the night.

As for Jayce level 1 Q. Level 1 Q may be superior in solo queue if you plan on being aggressive, but in organized high level play (which is what this) I've NEVER seen it before. It is universally E. Which allows for much better jungle ganks/Utility and the CC/Safety is better as well.

Also, you know you can use the ranged E to check bushes as well, right?

 

Yeah, reddit says Riot bought a ton of pizza for people and thn after the announcement that the remainder of the games would be rescheduled started throwing all kinds of free merch out to the crowds including t-shirts, hoodies, hats, various codes and the like.

Was somewhat annoyed having to miss yesterday's matches whilst doing some mentoring work but after the fiasco I came back to, I'm kind of glad I didn't see it live. Not much to add regarding the Regi situation, he's always seemed hit-and-miss to me as a call maker and AP mid.

 

Technically yes, and it works fine for checking something like mid brush from over a wall, but 650 range is pretty short for a spell to check brush with. Vs Darius 550 range E, running up to check with it top would've probably gotten him killed. Not to mention there's no point in taking the E for safety if you use it to brushcheck anyway.
