I'm hoping that Wildbow starts the sequel after he finishes with Twig. Partly because I'm a huge fan of the Worm-verse but mostly because Wildbow's promised to elaborate on Sleeper in the sequel.

He did say that he wanted to wait a couple of series before he came back to Worm, so perhaps he's gearing up to start writing the sequel. I've been keeping up with Twig on an infrequent basis and it's clear his pacing and general writing skill has improved since he finished Worm, so I'm looking forward to when he starts on Worm 2.

I would love a Worm 2 but honestly, before that, I would love for Worm to be edited and published in book form. I just want to own the physical copies and pelt my friends with them so they finally read the damn thing >_>

Can't agree more with this. Also I hope that going over and editing Worm will let him truly improve upon it in the sequel.

He's said multiple times that Worm2 is Next, and Twig is nearly over. There's no known ETA for Worm publishing but editing occurs alongside other projects.

Wasn't sure if I should post this in the Worm fanfiction thread or not but ultimately decided against it since, well, it's not fanfiction.

We've Got Worm is a podcast by the Daly Planet in which the two hosts discuss Worm. The way this works is, each week they have a session where they talk about one complete arc and this updates each Wednesday. Just yesterday, they posted the podcast where they talked about Arc 9 Sentinel. One of the hosts is someone who has already read Worm once whereas it is the first time for the other one.

What I really love about this is by taking their time and doing a slow reread, they can go really in-depth about each Arc. The close reading really helps in that regard, that they aren't rushing through this and pace themselves.

Their discussions are interesting, they clearly know what they're talking about and it's just cool to see someone point out the parts where Worm succeeds on a technical writing level (and at times, where it doesn't). It helps that the two are charismatic and likeable guys who are fun to listen to.

Apparently, Wildbow agrees as starting episode four or five of the podcast he makes huge replies in the reddit threats, clarifying his thoughts and writing process.

Of course, one won't agree with everything they say, but it's nonetheless a really entertaining and interesting podcast that I can heartily reccomment to any Worm fan. It makes you appreciate Worm again, which I really, really needed since all the shitty alt Taylor fics have honestly curbed a lot of my enjoyment of Worm.

I frankly forgot how fucking excellent Worm was as a piece of fiction. With all the fanfics rushing things and butchering Taylor I had forgotten how Worm took its time establishing the world and characters. To name a recent example, we had no clue as to what Endbringers were or what they did until Arc 7 or 8. There was no Taylor musing about Lung as the dragon of kyusho or some shit like that.

The first episodes are around one hour in length but with each arc getting longer, so does the time they spent talking about it where most episodes by now are around two hours.

Still, worth checking out. Linking the reddit threads which in turn have links to their site, their youtube page or to itunes, depending on which you prefer. It's always audio only.

We've Got Worm Episode 1: Gestation

We've Got Worm Episode 2: Insinuation

We've Got Worm Episode 3: Agitation

We've Got Worm Episode 4: Shell

We've Got Worm Episode 5: Hive

We've Got Worm Episode 6: Tangle

We've Got Worm Episode 7: Buzz

We've Got Worm Episode 8: Extermination

We've Got Worm Episode 8.5: Mailbag episode

We've Got Worm Episode 9: Sentinel

So yeah, worth checking out, I'd say. Might even revitalize Worm discussion here.

Nice, thank you for recommending this. I've been on the hunt for some good podcasts.

This is a must read! It's well written with a great cast of characters and fully fleshed out world. This story is not for the faint of heart though as it takes almost a Watchmen like approach to superpowers in just how depressing it can be at times. Still despite its rather bleak outlook, I can honestly say that I hard time putting it down. I love the different take one superheroes and the use of powers, it is very hard to find unique reads nowadays.

This is a good time to read Worm, since the sequel is supposed to start in the next few months.

And to think I was already planning to re-read the entirety of Worm from this coming week onwards which'll be the first time I've read it since the series was completed. Hell, I've never even bothered reading a single fanfic about it.

Should be a damn fun ride.

Would definitely recommend. Probably with the We Got Worm podcast mentioned above. Great companion piece , really catches things I never picked up on before.

    That's pretty dope. I'm excited.

What happened to the story about the Lambs? Is it any good?

I'm going through Twig at the moment and it's bloody fantastic. Wildbow has really improved his writing since Worm, which was already pretty high quality. The story is tight, there isn't the meandering that some segments of Worm went through and the characters are all memorable despite Sylvester's terrible memory for names.

Its wrapping up now. Every aspect of the writings improved and the main POV character is a much more.. engaging character then Taylor in a lot of ways.

I'm not sure if I like it better then Worm plot wise but we'll see how it ends.

Wildbow hasn't said. Just that it will focus on a different main character.

    This is an interesting thing.

I suspect that it's going to be a complete surprise, probably a character that was only a footnote in Worm, but I kinda want another story dedicated to another hero/villain of Brockton Bay. I guess exposure to Taylor probably plays a big part in this.

There has been some speculation that Worm 2 protagonist is the mystery figure in the commission YunYunHakusho did for Widbows patreon. Though since this is Wildbow he might just be fucking with us.
