I start a new list, I have seen people want the lists of worst Summary and Author's profile... So I present a list of the worst Author's Notes.

This list I am curious what is the worst Author's Note you have seen and from which story, everything from an's that are longer than the chapter or in some cases entire story to the ever dreaded all caps, 1337 speak, and review begging monsters that scream attention whore at the end of a dung heap chapter or story. Or sometimes the ones at the beginning of the chapter which make you just leave immediately as your eyes bleed from abuse and you wish your spleen would jump up your throat and throttle your brain to end your misery.

I would put some here but the one's I know are from the Naruto ff not HP and as this is an HP section...

I did go back 10 pages and check, I did not see anything like this before and like hell I'm searching through 40 pages of old threads. If this has been done before I freely accept being nailed to the wall by angry people.

 

That was posted as one single chapter. Chapter 4, if I recall correctly... Can't remember what story it was, probably a bad J/L fic.

She thinks 144 hits is a lot? Maybe for the first hours following the story being posted, but for the Harry Potter fandom it's nothing.

 

Hm. You're right. I have thousands of hits on my old WIP. And I really oughtta update that one. It hasn't gotten a new chapter since about September.

 

I can't recall the specific story, but I'll just generally say that any AN in the middle of a story or one begging for reviews before they put up another chapter are both the worst sort of notes.

Not only is it bad writing and disrupts the flow of the story, but if you need a note in the middle of the story to explain something then there's not much hope for you.

And if you write so people can review and tell you how awesome you are then...just go away.

 

While perhaps not the "worst," the one at the end of Echoes of Power, Chapter 26 specifically aimed at DLP deserves mention. (There was a thread here devoted to it, if I recall).

 

I remember that one, isn't that the guy who thinks he's so great 'cause he has a Ph.D.? Such a retard...

 

I just read that and while he did make a few good points, he annoys me way too much with his 'I can use words that nobody actually uses in normal conversation,'

And on that note, who were the people who said that it should be posted on DLP because I don't know what they were thinking?
