    2024 Writing Goals!!!
Let us look back at our previous writing goals (if you are rejoining us this year) and see what you have accomplished! Or, for those who fell off the bandwagon, what could we do differently this year to help us towards success.

After you have gone over your old writing goals, come up with goals for 2024. For your own sanity, I suggest having a few goals, some easier than others. You want to be able to look back over the months and see the progress you've made and the goals you've hit. This will help motivate you rather than stress you out.

    Some good goals are:
    - What is the bare minimum word count you wish to hit?
    - How many days in a row do you want to write without stopping?
    - A story you wish to finish, or certain chapters?
    - Want to enter a DLP competition.
    - etc, etc.

For example, my goals for 2023 were the following:
    - Write more, write anything.
    - Try to journal and see if that helps.
    - Get off my flipping phone.
    - Go on walks, meditate, and just let myself think.
    - Be more active with this community and to remind others to update and write.

I did not journal, but I have been using my phone less. Still probably should be more active, both with the community and physical activity. I grade myself a C-, as I did win NaNoWriMo and made progress towards my stories.

    New Goals
    - Write 50-75% of The Subtle Darkness in order to start publishing it (roughly 50k-75k needed).
    - Write 2k a week to accomplish this.
    - Less procrasination, more heads down and focus. Stop wasting time.
    - Enter one DLP competition now that I'm trying to get them started again on DLP.

    2024 goals:
    1. Write at least 250 words a day
    2. Write at least 3000 words a week
    3. Finish a Novel-length work
    4. Finish Jedi Rebellion.

I wrote more this year than I have in the last two combined, but most of my writing was in fits and starts with long droughts in between. I’d like to be more consistent.

I did 2500 every day this past year. I wanted to go in a different direction and I did, with two long original fictions, one being finished and being made ready for the publishers. I've picked up some more obligations since last year, so I honestly think I'm going to have to focus more on what I do manage to write. I'm going to finish the long work and get someone to edit it down. I'm going to stop writing so much for the secret second account, but that's not because I don't like what I've written.
@Irene I want an update on your promise to break someone.

    1) write the intro and last scene for my Ron Weasley goes to Eaton fic.
1b)do not fall into rabbit hole of researching Eaton.
2)enter 2 DLP competitions. Even if my vote doesn't go to the winner. I live in a democracy, I should respect it.

    2024 goals:
    1. Get back into writing weekly, as daily is too heavily dependent on my depression playing ball.
    2. Enter competitions.
    3. Complete any first draft of at least one of my novel-length original stories(dragonrider, cyberpunk, steampunk, low fantasy, romance).

Update for the end of Q1:
I'm done with the spreadsheet. I don't feel like my own regularity is in doubt, not to me, anyway, and I'm not interested in continuing one of my current projects, and I'm replacing it with a creative project that isn't exactly writing(no spoilers). As I said about my obligations ramping up, that's played a role in the restructuring of my schedule, but it's mainly the fact that I feel like I'll be better off putting my creative juices somewhere else, at least some of them.

I've not participated in this before but I do write a bit every now and then so I'll give it a go. Mainly rewriting a old project at the moment, so I'm not sure how to convert that into a traditional wordcount (200 000+ of old bad writing but I'm finding it surprsisingly diffciult to keep the wordcount as is, just make the words better. No need to make it bloated since I'm not adding that much plot, just editing it). But I'm participating in the comps here, absolutely love them, and they give a clear wordcount at least.

Goals for the rest of the year would be to write as much as possible. With work and a tennis elbow and procrastination it's always going to be less than I want to, but I'd like to participate in every one of the writing competitions here and if I could get near the end of the rewrite of the old fic I'm working on I'd be very happy with myself.
