Are you sick of fics featuring a manipulative Albus Dumbledore? Or fics were Albus Dumbledore is dumb and incompetent? If you said yes to any of the above, this fic is for you.

It is a hilarious Albus-Centric story where our favorite headmaster is overworked, exhausted and just plain over it. While not perfect by any means, it is a fun story that goes off the wheels in the most delightful manner. The fic also features an interesting Harry Potter, a good Snape arc and fun amount of sheer chaos.

If my review doesn't do it for you, just read this passage:

Barty Crouch Sr. dies within a week. It was some slow-acting, incredibly corrosive curse. When Albus hears the news, he demands, “Why wasn’t I made aware of this? Maybe I could have broken it!”

The nurse shrugs. “You’re not in the chain of command.”

“I’m the Chief Warlock of the Wizengamot!”

“St. Mungo’s is a private institution that is not beholden to government intervention beyond certain legal levels.”

Albus’ face darkens. “I’ll show you legal!”

The nurse just shrugs again and leaves. Albus scowls at his ceiling. Phineas Nigellus Black, from the comfort of his portrait, says, “Blackmail would probably solve a lot of problems for you.”

“I’m a member of the government!”

“Exactly.”

Fair enough.

Like I said above: fun, witty and puts a smile on your face. What's not to love? 4/5 with the potential to go higher.

 

I tried reading this but dropped it for the language. I'll give it another shot and review.

 

Very fun fic. Different take on Albus, but humanises him in a very funny way. Isn't just a retread of canon with this different characterisation, either. I think my favourite part was the subtle side plot of

Albus trying to create new organs (to replace organs that would be cursed as punishment for breaking magical contracts) then being told by medical professionals that it was impossible, only to basically think "Pish to that I'm Albus Dumbledore.".

Loads of fun. This is a very interesting characterisation of Dumbledore who remains extremely powerful but has his eccentricities dialled to 11. The writing is funny which is usually difficult to pull off, especially in a crack fic.

Also features a great Harry and a very natural exploration of cause and effect where things deteriorate from canon in a mostly believable way.

I read this when you linked it on discord the other day - it's a lot of fun, although I slightly prefer the earlier chapters before it starts diverging, but as much fun as it is, I'm not sure it's one I'll remember to check out to see if it's updated. That said, probably a 4/5, as it's very good at what it does.
