So I've had my XBOX slim for about a year now and it's never given me a problem. Until now. And only after I started playing Modern Warfare 3.

Now though, after a while it'll beep as if it's been turned off cut off completely. some times I'll play for hours and hours and there's no problems but then other times it'll shut down after five minutes or less. It's not overheating at all, everything seems fine.

Then it gets weirder. once it's off and the whole thing is shut down completely... it'll randomly turn itself on again like someone pressed the start button. sometimes soon after it topped itself, sometimes a while.

    Thoughts?

    EDIT: INB4 "Should have bought a PS3."

Make sure its vents or whatever have plenty of space around them and aren't full of dust and shit. And check your warranty expiry date, just in case.

Sounds like a sensor problem. Have you tried different outlets or controllers?

And here I thought blu-ray won.

/Can't abide Microsoft consistently placing PSU's in 360's that are rated for very few Watts above the max load
//It's literally what causes the RROD to be so frequent. Neither Nintendo or Sony does that.

I wouldn't say that's the main cause, the main cause is, and they all do this, is using shitty thermal paste, and then globbing it on like they mashed a piece of chewing gum to it.

Eh, I had shitty luck with the PS3 as well. Laser disc reader stopped working 13 months after I got it, and of course there was a 1 year warranty.

    /Should have stuck to computers.

Only other thing I can think of is maybe there's something off with the power chord. Do you have a spare one, or one that you can borrow just to confirm that that is not the problem?

Sounds like the PSU brick has problems.
