This is a kind of hilarious send off on the process of meme-making set to the tune of that God-awful Taylor Swift song that got popular.

 

Smart lyrics; College Humor is always quite funny like that but... the only thing I can really take away from that is the knowledge that 'meme' is pronounced 'meem' not 'memm' like I thought.

I actually thought it was pronounced meh-me.

Not that anyone I know offline knows what the hell meme's are anyway.

 

I agree with Loki. It's not a word you speak, as no one in real life, except for fellow geeks, know what the hell a meme is. If they do, they don't refer to them as such, they use the name of that particular one. For the record, though, I always thought it was may-may.

 

I must've gotten lucky when I ran across the word for the first time, 'cause I Googled it and found right away what has turned out to be the correct pronunciation.

 

I use to pronounce it Mee Mee as well until, believe or not, my high school physics teacher corrected me. He was an WoW player.

Isn't "memetics" pronounced "meem-etics?" So wouldn't "meme" be "meem?"

Regardless, it's always been "meem" to me.

 

I thought they had taken a part of the video at first. But it was funny when Kanye was talking about the cheetah.

 

I think memetics is "mem-etics" not "meem-etics", because "meme" is meant to be a parallel to "gene", and "genetics" is "gen-etics", not "geen-etics".
