Harry killing as a child.... It really pisses me off. I can get Harry losing his innocence at a young age from the abuse and harsh reality that no one can look out for him but himself. But Harry killing people (like the Dursley's) when he's a child is just bullshit.

Depends on the way the author has him raised. Remember that child soldiers are still used in real life.

Yes, But I've never seen him used in a good child soldier story though.

How about if he accidentally kills everyone he meets. Well, almost everyone anyway. I sense great crackness with this plot development.

You mean like he accidentally causes a grease fire in the kitchen cooking breakfast and the Dursley's die in their sleep from carbon monoxide poisoning?

You'll have to be careful, though; otherwise, it would be a pseudo-spin on the whole 'Mr. Black' thing, that a lot of the fandom has a hard-on for.

How about Harry going back in time to curse Molly sterile before she could get Ginny?

Harry takes an impromptu vacation and then, through a sequence of convoluted and humorous coincidences, aided by massive assumptions on the part of everyone who meets or hears of him, accidentally the whole reality. Is this dangerous?

Gotta admit, though; some of the scenes in Make a Wish were pretty funny.

Or we could, I don't know, do a time-travel fic where we don't use pointless cliches in the fandom born out of rage at the shitty way the books ended. Maybe do something productive, like, I don't know, going back in time to stop Arianna's death.

Also gotta love the change in Harry's attitude over the course of the story. By the time he comes back to Hogwarts, he's firmly in the 'shoot first, send the flowers later' camp.

'Right frame of mind', indeed :)

Okay, then perhaps turning it on its ear and making it a horror fic, and make it not only the hated or evil characters die, but some good guys too.

And just because this thread has been derailed long enough.

Pet Peeve: Harry speaking and acting like Dumbledore when he gets older.

Really? I see Young!Dumbles being remarkably similarly spoken, he's 150 years old and I postulate that it's just more or less how he's always talked.

When I say 'young', I mean like school age, not 'auburn-beard' Dumbledore. I've read a few fics where he refers to people as 'my boy', like it's some kind of catch phrase of his, and not a grandfatherly affect from being older than pretty much everybody.
