Don't worry though, they only do it to teach the older siblings it would be better if they didn't bite during oral. Or something else that's 'justified'.

Sometimes, if the second year is REALLY lucky, Molly/Ginny will brew them a love potion attuned gredforge (who count as one person due to magical core signatures), so the rape isn't really rape.

Tattoos are silly, but you do see eleven year old kids with ear (and other) piercings. Mostly chav/emo cultures - see Claire's also - they even have a special reference on their form to children under four months!
The thing is, kids can get these piercings for the price of a pair of earrings, which start at £10. That's maybe a month or two pocket money, and easily affordable around birthday/Christmas. With a majority of older girls having ears pierced, and no problem on having it done young, I don't think people care too much.

Of course, I don't think Claire's was actually around in 1991...

Fics that feature harry physically beating on his enemies, despite him being outnumbered and at wand point. It worse when he has his wand but chooses not to use it. Harry Potter is a wizard not a bloody MMA champion.

Whats particularly aggravating is when he does that because he signed up for a weekly karate/aikido/judo/whateverthefuck class at the local community centre over the summer.

Re-writing moments from canon that should, according to the story, not happen that differently from canon simply to demonize a character (usually Ron).

This sounds kinda like Elementary Calculations.

That Harry was a seriously creepy little fucker.

Neville as the back-up best friend. Why is it whenever there is Ron or Hermione (or both) bashing, that Neville is automatically relegated to fulfill that role?

I don't have a problem with this. If you accept that it will probably be someone in Gryffindor then Neville is the logical choice. Personally I think that without Ron and Hermione, Harry would have had a wider circle of friends, and spent time equally with Neville, Dean and Seamus, and possibly people from other houses. However if you want him to have one best friend, sans Ron and Hermione, then it would be Neville. Mostly because Dean and Seamus seem to have paired off so he befriends Neville by a process of elimination.

If it's the same chain as the Claire's Boutique that's in our shopping mall (and it is), then it's older than dirt.

It's a tiny store, but it is one of the only ones, along with JC Penney, that has been around since our local shopping mall was built in 1984 (many others have, sadly, moved on or went completely out of business, like Waldenbooks). The company has been around since at least 1961, but has only been named Claire's since 1983.

It's okay making Neville Harry's best friend, but too often he's made out to be a flawless version of Ron.

Anybody can easily be a flawless version of Ron. But, without flaws, they are uninteresting. Without flaws, they are just boring, perfect kids, which usually means that the story will be shit. I like the characters I read about to be realistic, thank you very much.

EDIT: I just started to read a story written by an author who had also wrote a pokemon fanfiction, and in the Harry Potter one, I came across the term 'Mareepishly'. I had the page closed before I even finished that single goddam sentence.

    Honestly, 'Marrepishly'?

Well, wasn't mareep a sheep-like pokemon? It was probably a little mistake. Of course I don't know the story, but it doesn't exactly enter the pet peeve category, does it?

But still, if your talking about hold your hippogriffs, then that's another thing...

Speaking of sheep. Any time people use the term "sheeple".

It makes me think of this

Tattoos I agree as being odd for an eleven year old, but I don't think earrings are that unusual.

I got my ears pierced for the first time in second grade, and I was far from unusual.

For guys it's a bit less common I suppose, but I distinctly remember at least one boy in my fourth grade class as having his ear pierced.

It does, however, really annoy me when authors use things like that to try to make Harry "cool". Harry doesn't become more intimidating and bad-ass just because you give him a set of magical tattoos.

That kills Dementors, and is capable of physically interacting with someone, like being petted or nuzzling.
